  1. I have tossed around the idea of chartering but I financially can not afford it right now. So I thought get a foot in the door and see what its really like. I have posted about "first mate" but no response, why is that ? Are there just an abundant of people wanting to be a first mate ? I am a rookie you could say , I have a gist of what I'm doing but need some direction / help.

  2. when we first got out there, there was a good amount of boats in the area. Then they slowly went bye bye. ( that should have been a hint to go find the fish) some times I dont think my fish finder works lol I can go all day and not mark a single fish but catch 20 fish. So I dont trust it. but ill give them ideas a try.

    H&K I'll rent my time machine too ya !!!!

    SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS

    ====================

    Went out of Olcott and couldn't find any fish. Finally got a hit in about 260 fow, then about an hour later in about 300 fow got 1 nice steely, than about 2 hours later got another steely. I had my 2 riggers set at 30' and 46' tried all different color spoons and flies not sure if I'm in the wrong area or what but its getting frustrating not being able to find the salmon and more consistent fishing. I don't have a big boat or good electronics either and I cant make the long hauls like the charters can. I can't seem to find the fish any help or hints at finding these fish would be great !!

  4. Hello !

    I am looking for some PT work. I work m-f 4pm to 12:30 so I'm available during the morning and any weekends. I'm a very energetic and outgoing guy. I don't have a lot of " charter fishing " experience but I have done some hunting guiding. I have done a good amount of salmon/ trout fishing so I know the jist of what I'm doing. I live near Olcott and Wilson but I am willing to drive a little further. So if theirs anyone out there looking for some help here and there or on a regular basis please let me know.

    Thanks guys !

  5. Hey guys I would like some help on the pros and cons of some boats and maybe get your opinion on a good boat. I've looked at a few boats already , A 84 Thompson and a 89 Trophy, I'm going to look at a 89 Thompson 240 fisherman that has everything. I have a 17 foot aluminum right now ( shes better suited for LE walleye not LO salmon/trout ) and I would like a bigger boat for choppier water and to get out further faster. So any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks guys

    MJ
