  1. Fished out deep 350-500 midday. Struggled to a 1/4 start. Came back in and lake settled nicely. Fished 200-250 and went 9/10 in about 2.5 hrs. 1 big guy and a couple other nice fish. Flasher and fly bite. White and green paddles with pro am uv was great. Riggers 95 and 105. Screen was loaded with bait. Coming from Ohio that’s our last trip up of the year. Good luck to everyone. -Ryan

  2. I use the national weather service out of Buffalo for the Sodus bay to Mexico report. Looks to lay down a day or two then back up. September is up and down. Tough for guys like me in 16 ft boats.

  3. I know how you guys feel, one of the reasons I went to a bigger boat with a closed bow, even still, fishing in 3+to 5fters isn't fun no matter how big your boat is. I use the Henderson harbor reports, there somewhat closer, or just look up the local forecast of the area and X the wave forecast by 2 and you'll be closer than any forecast!!.

The biggest challenge is getting to where to fish are in those conditions. We usually just ride the waves on our troll or the trough depending and then run back up hill. Trolling into the chop is a bear.

  4. start at the 30line straight out had a fantastic day out there. ended up with a 4 man limit containing 7 matures  2 coho and three steelies. 75-90 down  moonshine geezer and carbon 14 were our best spoons and white green dots with the pro/am glow fly also white 2face with the stud fly took all but 1 of our matures on wire out 255 and 280 on a 2 setting. Also released several 2yr old kings and steelies. a lot of the steelies came on sliders and a ten color leadcore

Apparently I'm an idiot. What's the white 2face look like?

  5. Coming over Labor Day weekend still trying to get a place. May have one in Kendall but as the fish setup to stage want to make sure we're in the best spot. We usually fish olcott but my buddy may be able to get that house in Kendall. I've heard people talk about the bar and kings staging that way so don't really want to pull the boat all over hunting for the big guys. Any Thoughts appreciated.

  6. I'm not sure how you rigged your free sliders but we often account for about half our fish on them.I used to stack rods but I think they are more inconvenient to mess with than sliders.  Folks use various lengths but I generally rig mine 6-8 ft long and I lower my first line about15 or 20 ft before attaching the slider.

So you put a swivel on main line, 6-8 feet of line, then the lure? Does it matter lure or can you run any setup on the free? Willing to give it a better try.

  7. Used to use but can be a pain.   I know kings are "supposed" to run deep after getting hooked but in my experience if the fish takes the bottom line at the ball 30% of the time I am landing the fish and the tangled line from the other stacked rod.  I prefer boards with leadcore or copper

I prefer them as well but I'm not dropping the cash at this time lol
