First line in the water at about 7:30am. Started out in 100FOW with longlining redfins on planer boards on both sides and then set up the downriggers with spoons and set another longline straight out the back. Fish started hitting almost right away. Moved to 125' and got a few more. A buddy was out in 230' and said he was having lots of action so we headed deeper. No hits between 130 and 180'. Soon as we got to about 200' they started hitting again. Had 15 fish on the line but could only get 9 in the net. Had at least 5 more fish hit planer boards and knockoff the downriggers. Fish seemed really deep or really shallow and scattered everywhere. Downrigger fish came at 90, 95 and 125'. The rest on redfins on top. Best spoon color was green monkey puke. No real size to the fish - biggest was a 10lb chinook that had a lamprey attached, which we beheaded and tossed back (the lamprey that is). Had a beautiful 10+ lb laker come off right at the net. We used our regular tackle for the redfins which made for lots of fun fighting 6-8lb fish. You don't realize how amazing this fishery we have here is and its fun trying to figure it out, especially when it gives you days like this!
