Yea. What he said. There is also an access road down to the bay off empire Blvd right near the plank rd. intersection which is much more convenient if you fishing the east (Webster) side.

Might I suggest hiring one of the local charter services and taking a few trips with them. Chances are you need more help with proper equipment rigging and the effectiveness of your presentation than you do with knowing where to fish. Just a thought. Welcome to the site. usgs reports at the ford street bridge can give you all the flow info you need pertinent to the area you will be fishing. However it doesn't tell you when the river is ice free and navigable. Just ask around on here from time to time. Also be prepared for here to blow out for a week at a time.

Yes. Definitely be careful. But don't worry about it for a couple months from now. She's locked tight. Like always this time of year... hence probably why you don't hear about many people floating the genny mid winter.
