My father owned Lou's Boat Livery - Bait & Tackle Shop from the early 50's to the mid 60's located on Braddock's Bay on Lake Ontario near Rochester New York. He would rent out rowboats, sell live bait, tackle and swap fish stories with the locals. My mother ran the snack bar serving Hot's, Burgers, Soft Drinks and Beer to the hungry Anglers. As a kid, I spent my summers there helping out and I vividly remember the creaky wooden floor, the smell of the bait tanks filled will minnows and crayfish , walls of shiny Rods & Reels and display cases of jewel like shimmering Lures. Unfortunately he had to close the shop suddenly when my mom suffered a broken ankle injury and my dad couldn't run the shop alone. The entire inventory had to be removed and it was put in storage. My dad was so broken-hearted that he could not continue the business without her help, so he never looked to open another store. My father recently passed away and I inherited the 60 year old inventory. In the next few months, I will be listing hundreds of New Old Stock Lures, Tackle, Rods, Reels, other accessories and more. This will be a once in a lifetime opportunity to purchase items from that era with original boxes, paper work and store displays.
