  1. This video shows some of the massive perch schools we followed on Lake Simcoe on May 7, 2015.

All of the footage was taken in shallow water (6 to 10 feet) in the Sibbalds Point area and the schools had good mixes of jumbos and juveniles.

Some good sized smallies were also seen in and around the perch schools.

    Hope you enjoy!

  2. Hi everyone,

We recently completed the following documentary of the Ringwood Fish Culture Station processes after following the efforts of volunteer group from the Metro East Anglers for the past year.

This video, now being shown at the Sportsman Show in Toronto, shows the full process from egg collection to releasing reared salmon and trout back into the tributaries of Lake Ontario.

This should be of interest to all outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy the great Lake Ontario fishery we have today.

    Hope you enjoy!

  3. This video is Part 2 of our Bay of Quinte walleye trip.

Here you'll see numerous fish being caught including one just under 12 pounds as well as a huge 15.5 pound trophy (at the 7:53 mark of the video). It was an unusually mild December day with a bit of rain in the afternoon and a consistent 'walleye chop' all day. A good bite throughout with all of the popular stick baits producing well. Most fish released with a couple of the smaller ones taken for the table.

    Hope you enjoy!

  4. We recently spent a few days fishing on the Bay of Quinte for large walleye. This is a brief video showing some of the walleye we caught during one of the outings. While in the Bay we fished with Aaron from Canadian Trophy Fishing Adventures and Mike from Salmon Fishing Charters. Both are very competent, knowledgeable and friendly charter captains. We're looking forward to the ice season and will definitely be paying the Bay of Quinte a visit when it freezes. Part 2 of this walleye video contains footage of a 12 and 15.5 pound walleye. To be posted soon ...

    Hope you enjoy!

  5. Ok....Btw, care to divulge where (body of water) these were shot? Noticed that the muskies had no bars or tiger markings.....pure strain....Also like that guy in a hurry, maybe for a sucker for supper, or tryin' not to be supper for a bigger musky... !

Thanks panfisher. The video was taken on the Petawawa River in Algonquin. The muskie for the most part were clear however one in the middle of the video was barred. We're pretty sure the last muskie had a sucker supper but just out of camera range.

  6. During a recent fishing trip we collected underwater footage of fish in their natural habitat - not being fished or baited. We were concerned that the size of our camera rig would scare the fish, however, the opposite was true as it attracted walleye, smallmouth bass, redhorse suckers and muskie in good numbers. The cameras were left running for approximately 2 hours in 2 locations, 12 feet of water in a river channel then 4 feet of water in a silty bay. This video shows the muskies that passed the cameras; the walleye, sucker and bass footage will be posted soon.

    Hope you enjoy!

  7. alright i have got my camera mounted and started to get some good video as well!

your spinnys look to be spinning wayyy faster than myn. and i am ussualy running a down speed of about 2.4 on my fish hawk. what are you guys running for a down speed?

Looking forward to seeing the footage machzrcr! We average anywhere from 2.2 to 3 on the ball.

  8. You say you guys run the camera fairly close to your ball when running somewhat deep. Was wondering if you tried setting it back just to the point of seeing it to see if the fish that come into view strike more then the ones with the poparazzi in its face..?? Awsome video for sure, just makes you want it more ..... the newest trail cam!!

    Thanks Matt,

    -Jakey Baby-

    Thanks for the comments, Matt.

We can only run the camera a couple of feet away from the flasher (which is a foot and a half away from the fly) in order to see the fish approaching from behind. We've tried a bit further back and cant really see the strike. The fish don't seemed to be be too spooked by the ball/camera/flasher/fly being so close together but it sure would be nice to be able to see a bit further. Not going to happen with the tiny sensor cameras at those low light levels though.

  9. Thanks for responding!

I was looking to get one of those housings but wasn't sure how it would track on the rigger weight, I run 15# sharks, can you please tell me how you configured this to track straight in order to catch the video. All so, how far off the ball was your tackle 5,10,15,20 ft back? and how deep was that video taken? I really want to get one, but have to justified the expense, if you had to spend hours of testing and different ways to configure in order to capture this, I just might have to pass. Any and all hep would really be appreciated. I also noticed that you took some still photos, how was that done?

    Thanks again for responding.

Hi HomeOffice - we had the cameras mounted on 9 pound hammered balls (fish shaped, silver). It took quite a bit of adjustment to get the angle of the camera right to catch the bait and it took a bit of editing to get some of the deeper images cleaned up afterwards. The footage was taken between 80 and 110 feet and the baits had to be within 3 feet of the ball to catch them and the followers on on video.

Any more questions, feel free to ask!

    Alan

  10. So you where useing thoes new undwatet housings they make? When you say 2, are you referring to the 3D case they make?

    [ Post made via iPhone ] iPhone.png

Yes HomeOffice, we were using GoPro 2's in the new GoPro dive housings. The '2' just refers to the second edition of the camera not the housing.

  11. these vids always surprise me how many swing and misses we have and never know it

Many more misses that we recorded that weren't included in this video. Also many long follows. Interestingly enough the only day we were skunked this season was the day we had the most activity underwater. Constant followers and near misses with a couple of knock-offs.
