  1. I have edited my posts. I left the misspelled words for your pleasure. Check out the facts for yourself. My mechanic opened my car door in less than ten seconds to show me how easy it is. The alarm runs for only three minutes then shuts off. I neglected to say that my wallet (liscence, credit cards, checks, meds,380$ in cash and numerous items totalling almost three thousand dollars) was also stolen. I just purchased 99.50$ in clothing from All Seasons Sports, gone. I live in Burnt Hills 45 minutes from Albany. I believe theft is a concern to all of you.
  2. Sorry I did not spell check. And as far as "dissing" this area, I have done my research. Talk to any Trooper is this area and they will tell you the same. It is unfortunate, I agree. These are the facts and I do not like it either. Salmon River is one of my favorite fishing spots and I will miss it dearly. Anything I can do to avoid another fisherman or Boy Scout the disappointment of being robbed I will execute. Anyone wishing to discuss this personally, my number is right here. I hold the utmost respect for Charter Captains and thier profession. Yes, I am very upset and probably say things I shouldn't but that's my problem to deal with.
  3. Doors were locked. Car is a hatchback, so they could see something. We never knew what a crime laden area this is. There will be articles coming out in our local papers about this unfortunate event. I have wrote several chapters in books on fishing and have been featured in many newspaper articles. Field and stream magazine has written a story on us in the past. I am used to sending out good honest information to the public that people can enjoy reading. I am speaking tonite at a Boy Scout event and this will get out to hundreds of Sportsman and Sportswomen. I do not think anyone will enjoy this fishing story. It's too bad the Troopers can't control this. We go up there and see many, many, many CO,s and Police monitoring the fisherman when they should be monitoring the real criminals. Oswego county is choking itself to death by letting this continue for apparently a very long time. It has one of the highest crime rates in the state! I am taking this task very seriously. Crime prevention will be included from now on in all my articles and when speaking to children and thier families about the great outdoors.
  4. There were 2 red day packs, 1 made by Mountainsmith and the other made by Rokk. The green bag was a flambeu tackle bag. Lures were like I said Bass Pro XPS skickbaits in Brown Trout, Rainbow trout. Yo Zuri pins minnows in purple, rainbow, gold. X Raps were in various colors size 8. We are talking about a hundred lures or more. I teach fishing to Boy Scouts and at several tournaments to young children. There was a ton of terminal tackle (red octupus hooks, ball bearing swivels, sinkers etc.). There were two small green tackle boxes in the red bags which contained spinners, flys and about 50 salmon spoons in all colors. There was about a hundred hand tied flys and beaded nymphs. Dipsy divers, flashers and howie flys. About a half a dozen hemostat/ scissors. Both red bags look like large fanny packs. There were six very disappointed Boy Scouts later that afternoon that could not fish. It's time to play a little "Bait Car" in that area. They do not know who they are dealing with here! They shouldn't be worried about the Troopers.
  5. Hello fellow fisherman. While at your beautiful Salmon River Falls this Saturday with 6 Boy Scouts our fishing tackle was stolen from our car in the parking lot. There were 2 red soft bags and 1 green bag. They were full of terminal tackle, xps and yo-zuri stickbaits, target minnows, x-raps. Colors were rainbow, brown trout, purple. Many needlefish and assorted spoons. My Son's flyfishing stuff was stolen. ALL hand tied by himself. He was to do a flyfishing demonstration that afternoon for a merit badge but it never happened. 500$ cash to anybody with information leading to the recovery of our stuff back. Val DeCesare 518-788-1679. We had a Great time on Good Times and Strike Zone charters on Sunday boating some georgous Brown's, a Steelie and a Laker!
