  1. I am sure it's harder to fall off a 21 footers.(The water is warmer off a large boat LOL.)  I run a 23 foot and in winter and spring I wear my auto inflatable jacket you don't even know you have it on. You can buy them for under 100 bucks. I was born and brought up on Seneca and I was brought up to respect the water.

I am not telling you to wear it the state of NY is.

  2. If you run a board all the way across it really stiffened the gimbal mounts up and spreading the weight out. My gimbals are just screws and I run 6ft booms on my downrigger no problem.

I found a nice piece of rough cut cherry

  3. Hi all yep I have had similar problems but my slip is across from the village launch on a buzzy weekend I just sit on the boat and watch people launching it's the best show to watch all day and I don't burn a drop off gas .

Thanks Rob:yes: Always great to see good info shared on here by folks who know what they are doing:)

Sk8man WOW copper fishing has gotten tricky. 60 years ago we put 2 pie tins together wind copper around it with a swivel 10 ft leader with a twin minnow or a fluger on the end.

Folks have been coming up with ideas for entertaining their kids but what about the rest of us?

I thought it might be good to make a suggestion list that people can add their input to give others ideas

Here are some of the things I have been doing to stave off boredom:

Checked over line and drags on all reels, examined rod eyelets for wear and rough spots

Attached new fluoro leaders to all my setups (Lost count at 44)

Made new rig lines for Seth Green rigs, and checked over  connections

Weeded out  unused lures from lure boxes

Shined up spoons and replaced hooks where necessary (sharpened some as well)

Sorted out spoons and sticks by size in their boxes

Repainted shark weights and coated them with Plasti-dip

Coated all my Seth Green sinkers with Plasti-dip (to avoid handling lead directly and avoid scratches to boat)

Sorted out all the stuff  and equipment down cellar I'm putting back in the boat

Checked over  the downriggers and especially the connection points in the wire.

Double checked my trailer lights and oiled the winch

Checked trailer tire pressure and added air

Charged the batteries in the boat

Wiped down the displays of all my electronics

Checked over the condition  of all life vests

Checked the dates on my flares

Checked over and wiped down my kicker which off the boat is and on a stand in the garage

Checked over my nets  (one of which had a tear that I hadn't noticed previously) and repaired it

Most of this was done while listening to music on Youtube (some great stuff on there if you look around)

I'll be tying trolling flies as soon as I receive the new materials ordered

Am I ready yet to go fishing ? Still more stuff to do as I think of it:lol:

I have done everything on your list except polishing the boat it's a fishing boat who's looking just me. But my wife leaves me a new honeydew list every day she goes to work at the hospital that keeps me busy
