  1. This is the first year I have boat set up for kings dipsys leadcore down riggers etc. I have been doing well last few years with sprung browns of planerboards but never invested in other equipment.

My question is any pointers on where and what equipment would be best to use next week as I have off from work would be greatly helpful . Would love to catch my father a king. We haven't been out since his father my grandpa passed 15 years ago. (Third strike arneys marinara sodus pt.)

    Thanks

  3. just thought I post a quick post.

after seeing all the good reports I frantically got my boat ready Sunday. I ended up getting out of work yearly today so me and a buddie thought we would take a quick trip before winds and raid picked up. went 2 for 2 one small brown and a laker. 8-12ft water.

  4. I have already ruled out mounting them off the back due to accessing the ball and hooking to a release as it would be quite a pita . thanks for the responses. looks like I'll go with the big Jon.

  5. these will be manual riggers as well. was mainly concerned if two feet was enough extension to not interfere with the prop on turns. thanks for the responses

  6. I'm looking at some big Jon or proos to go off the side of my boat. any pros or cons you have had experience with. second question rather my main question is boom length. the big Jon is a two foot boom length and the proos I can get a deal on have a 48" boom length. my boat is a 17' starcraft outboard. would two foot be enough extension out the side or would 48" be best route. thanks

  7. just want to say this forum is packed with great tips and info. I have been fishing since I could stand and have been finally able to get a boat of my own and have had decent luck with spring planner boards and was Google searching for copper and dipsey diver info and ran into this forum several times and can't wait to try my luck this coming year. have not had the pleasure of a king peeling line since my grandfather had a boat out of sodus 15 years ago. look forward to a good year.
