A optional $5 Big Fish would be fun
-

It's tuff and vary frustrating when you put a camera on them and see thousands of nice size perch and can only get a few just have to grind it out because when they start hitting good Its worth it
-
They would probably let you set up at kidders or O'Malleys. Brewer Sporting Goods in Ovid would be a good place to put sign-up sheets
-
Don't let it sit around just like a car

Roll call who's fishing? The DW will be in.

Sorry guys I forgot to add the LoL on that post . I was just playing but with all the 27# browns and 17# Laker people are "getting" why not a 14# LL haha

Don't feel bad about the ocean charter i experience the same thing on the Kenai. A lot of fish around and we just kept doing the same thing with very little results. I think a lot guides in vacation areas like that don't get a lot of experienced anglers.
that happen to me as well.

It was so dark I couldn't get a good picture.

Just got a 14# LL on a top line on seneca

Run you leader as long as the rod. If running a spoon use 10-12 # test
-
How long of a leader are you using for your dipsys?
-
Tuff time of day. Long point North a few miles north should work try 80- 125

i fished cayuga today with down riggers the rods/ reels has 30 lb mono and 15 ft fluorocarbon leader .(12lb ) i used a small barrel swivel to join the lines together and snap swivel at the spoon end . for flashers ,cow bells you don't need any leader .
X2 but I switched to 10# this year

We fished hard for this derby . Fished different area of the lake than we usually fish .Caught a lot of fish but biggest was 9lb.Last weekend we caught a 12 out of that area. The fishstix winning seems to be on hold.
Did not fish the derby last weekend out of Ovid on Cayuga .By the time you picked up and drove around the lake it would probably take 1.5 hrs. off the fishing time.A 2nd weigh station at Deans for the Barney derby would be great to get more entrants.
I personally like a one day derby, my fishing partner is getting up in years and a couple long days on the water whip him. It does me to.
Who remembers the old wildman derbys ending with a pig roast at O maleys?
Great times.
I remember but was only little kid.
The one day Derbys are a lot of fun it's nice not to be out there all weekend
-
We just had a one day Derby and had 85 people don't think that's the problem. The one thing I think would help would be to add a weigh in at long point Dean's cove is to small. I would definitely fish all his Derbys if we didn't have to go all the to the south end. Looking forward to the fall derb

Lucky you are correct, it is that larger/spawning populations of alewife in the Lake now that the salmon seem to be searching for in their current diet. The Billions and Billions of 1 year old alewife that are currently in the lake seem to be getting devoured by every species except the mature kings. I will post my last long segment to this when people have caught up on this reading project.

I think we are ready for the last segment.
