I'm not sure. I responded to you about that and you never wrote back... I got that one secondhand and my only guess is it was supposed to change the action on it, some sort of flutter taper on the front. It's the only one I've ever seen like that. It showed it in the pics. I wish you would have responded to me instead of making me look bad on this post... I take pride in everything I own/sell....

On ebay, the bases have been selling for anywhere between $20 and $80 each! And the downriggers I've seen go for $100-200+ each. These are great downriggers.
