  1. Well the boat ran well. Was stumped why the new fishfinder wasn't working correctly. Fished blind for 6 hrs. until I kicked myself in the a$$ and found that the transducer plug was not inserted all the way. worked 80' area. Notta.release. All good for shake down cruise. Now that I have eyes I can focus on fish. Hope to get out another time or two before winterizing boat for season.

  4. I started using the MC Rockets. Like Jeremy said. I bought about a dozen bodies to try out and the owner also put in a letter and a couple free bodies to try. Have a informative website and videos. They catch kings. I recommend u go with the regular size bodies. The mag size are to big and needs material removed to get them into the bait head.  Have not tried scents with them yet.  My thought is to put a small wade of cotton soaked with canned herring fillet oil in the bait head. hopefully I get a chance to test it out yet this year.

  5. Olcott 7-4

Launched about 11:30. Got info fish were out front in 100-160'. Water was 42-45 degrees down 60'. turned some shakers , about 2pm worked out to 240' came across temp break and ACTION. Had 52-60 degrees 60' down and landed 3 teenage kings, nice coho and 3 steelies. Had a couple knock offs, lost a king and couple more shakers. took fish on riggers set 45-60' down, dips 140' back on 2 had action and ten color leadcore. silver spoons (tape colors grn, strawberry, purples) worked, along with mc rockets behind white grn dot paddles. pulled lines about 5pm. from 100-240' most all marks where at 50'. None deeper. Happy fourth of July and good fishing

  6. Keeping your eye on posts for the neighborhood will give ya an idea of where the fish are or were.  Its a big lake. fish are always moving. there one day and with the increased current flow and winds 5-7miles away the next. I chk out the lake surface current maps, noaa surface temp map and modis lake images to help give me a picture prior to going out to possibly give me a start point and then search and hopefully destroy.

If u have a positive picture, work on bait colors. keep your eye open for color/ temp breaks that have a good scum line or debris. zig zag across them to see if its holding fish and diff in surface temp. hope this helps.

  7. launched out Wilson .Went straight out to 150' dropped lines about 7am worked out to 350' hard east  west break at 300' took most fish on north side of break or right in break .  Spread riggers from 50 - 75' down. dip set back 180 on 3 with white glo grn dot with atomic was a hot ticket. 50- 60' riggers took fish with 42nds, blk - white strawberry glo ladderback and spooks . Boated 9 fish. missed 2. 20# & 8# king, steelies from 4-12#. Nice day to be on the water.

  8. I saw the listing for the boat your looking at. The motor box takes up space. Plus the I/o needs winterizing compared to outboard. I wouldn't say under powered, but adequate. I passed on the boat due to space and maint. It is a good price though. I have a lund 1900 pro v with a 200 Yamaha and kicker and fish the big water a lot. I can handle 2-3' waves running 15-20mph. top trimmed out speed is 57mph on flatter water.
