  1. I run optima blue tops on my 24v motors and main, 3 batts. Can't justify the cost of lithium. And there's newer battery technology being developed. AGM batteries do last the best. Over winter mine go on a battery tender in constant temp, 55-58, in my shop. Maintain ANY battery properly and it will last as long as it's within specs of your operating requirements for amp output. On a single 12v battery set up I used to run a 12v 90# AGM made by Hawker. If you killed that, you had a long day! I don't remember the exact specs on it, group 30. Hope this helps.

  2. Sounds like jealousy. We put a lot of money and time in our equipment. I'm a local that is tired of the "locals" aka people from Rochester, buffalo, not even close to here, that think they own the river cause they have 1/10 of an acre. Get over it, some people fish for a living to get by as it's their passion. No, instead we gotta put up with people like the above that complain about everything. Get over it. Tournaments are going to happen. And I bet the ones complaining are the ones who drive their barely water worthy boat down the river half on plane creating a giant wake that destroys the shorelines, beats boats of docks, about throws others out I their boats, but that's ok.

  3. Started around 630 in 100', found warm water, went out to 135, found good water around 125. Ground for about 4 hours before got first King in. 19#. Flasher fly at 120' on the fish hawk at 2.2 seemed to be what they wanted. Second fire short time after resulted in what I thought was bottom, was changing gear, spun boat around, yanked a bunch of times, and it started head shaking!! Got it in, 9# lake trout. Ok! What happened exactly there? Get wrapped around some junk on bottom? Someone's weight with line or maybe a downrigger?! Lol! Third fish 13#, fourth fish 17#. Afternoon bite around 2 is when things started happening. Green flies, white green flashers been good to me. And missed about 5-6 more, but, good day!3923.jpeg3953.jpegKIMG0173.jpeg

  4. I've had good luck using a ferrite ring, sometimes you may have to go with a inline filter for car stereo equipment. I have a clamp on style. wrapped wire twice worked on the 9. My enemy is everything is routed down the same side of the boat. I tried separating the power and transducer cables best I could, but then the kicker and its system interferes. I see Humminbird has a power cable with a ferrite bead now. Of course, more money! Why not include it on all power cables?? We pay enough for the damn things!!

  5. Mine is electrical interference. The Helix 9 right beside it doesn't act up since I put a filter on the power side. The kicker has a charging system that interferes with graphs. Not a true DC signal when charging. It's not sonar interference from another boat. I've never had that issue. Only time that happened is when I was ice fishing with my 7 and another friend was set up real close when we were jigging. Then you use the settings to tune the interference down. I have my Helix transducers on the back and the Fish hawk sender all on the same side about 6" apart. The Helix 7 is angled to try to keep riggers on screen when current isn't absurd.
