  1. Wow. I did wonder about knots / crimps etc. when using wire line. I will definitely check that out. Thank you!
  2. Wow... That's quite a difference. I see some that is just wire and some is copper. Any preference?
  3. Good information gentlemen. That cleared it up pretty well. Thank you.
  4. Being new to the sport I can't help but notice most serious anglers use wire rods. What are the advantages of wire over mono, braid, lead core? The rods and line certainly aren't cheap...
  5. Thanks again. I am making a shopping list .
  6. Thank you for your input! I will go out tomorrow and or Friday and see what happens. I may target browns first, sounds like they are a better bet right now.?
  7. I recently purchased a set of downriggers for whatever happens to be biting at any given time on Ontario. In order to be versatile what should my initial lure purchases consist of. Spoons, flies, plugs, colors, sizes, dodgers, spin doctors, etc. Holy crap. It is all a bit overwhelming when you are not familiar. Any advice on the "must have" l lures/set ups? Thanks!
  8. Hello! I grew up fishing in western NY. Mostly bass and musky. I just purchased my first set of down riggers for my 2011 Crestliner Superhawk. I'm looking forward to learning how to fish for Salmon and Trout on the lake as well as incorporate some new strategies into my musky fishing. I am an avid western hunter and a health and safety rep for the United Auto Workers union. I look forward to interacting on your site!
