  1. Made the drive to the other side of the lake and launched at Taugannock. First time out this year mainly just a check to make sure everything still works the way it should. Everything worked and with the cold cold wind we mangaed to catch 1 laker. Slower than normal but its a good month earlier than i normally start getting the boat out.

  2. Went out for the first evening troll in a very very long time. Tried to get in with the browns seems they are my favorite to catch. Ran all spoons, rigger at 44 and 49, 2 dipseys on a 1 setting out 82 feet, 2 dipseys on a 3 setting out 120 and 130. Caught 4 bows, 4 salmon, and 3 lakers. Dropped a good brown at the back of the boat. We had a good time and the boat dog Roscoe did as well, quick 2.5 hour trip.received_578010162864046.jpeg20200801_184457.jpegreceived_2786737608221008.jpegreceived_977030002720540.jpegreceived_295770248520748.jpeg

  3. Left Meyers at 7am this morning. Man that fog was thick! Took a while to get to where i wanted to be just being careful and taking it slow. Started fishing in the 50 fow to 75fow. Ended up taking fish after fish again. 2 color, 3 color, 7 color and a 8 color. Running spoons. Never had a fish on the rigger until we were pulling in lines at noon. Sons biggest fish was a 8lb 13oz laker. Papa did a decent brown. Lots of fish, only dropped 3. Let them do most of the catching its fun for me to watch that. Only fish we were missing was the rainbow!20200523_074320.jpeg20200523_080239.jpeg20200523_081644.jpegIMG_20200523_102439260_HDR.jpegIMG_20200523_101626017_HDR.jpegIMG_20200523_084724784_HDR.jpegimage000000.jpeg

  4. Took the kids out this morning for a go at some fish. Launched at Myers and headed north. Water was extremely brown so we headed for clearer water. Fished with a 2 color, 3 color, 7 color, and a 8 color. Had riggers parked at 28 and 32 foot. Worked 45 to 55 fow. Kids had a blast reeling in the leadcore lol. Had a triple at one point all on cores, got them all in!received_169674911128662.jpegreceived_2765612620216695.jpegreceived_675760909661358.jpegreceived_2730549627190847.jpegreceived_391462011791686.jpegreceived_379862359622059.jpeg20200516_112554.jpeg20200516_103814.jpeg20200516_084546.jpeg

  5. Been looking to upgrade my fish finder and I am down to either Garmin or Lowrance. I have liked Lowrance but reading a lot of negative reviews on the Hook2 7 tripleshot units and some even on the splitshot units. The Garmin are about the same $$ and haven't seen many negative reviews on them. This is sort of like the old debate either Chevy or Ford but just trying to get some info before I spend a good chunk of $$. Thanks in advance.

  6. Got out this morning. Launched at 5am and headed north out of Myers. Set up in 80' of water. Went aways and then it was on. Boated 9 lakers and 2 salmon. All released to fight another day. Lures were 62 to 75 foot down over 80 to 115 foot of water. Only a spoon bite. Couldn't get a spinny fly to fire.
