  1. Well...if you have night eyes mounted on your scope already. Do you have a separate scan light from night eyes ? If u were going to try scanning with the night vision then light them up when it's time to shoot I suppose it wouldn't be a bad idea to try the night vision binos.....you can always return them

I have a lot of experience with the 'night eyes' kill lights mounted on both the shottie and the .204 that I carry. The semi .204 has decent glass with a lighted reticle which makes a good como with the light when I hit the pressure switch. I walk in to where I'm gonna set up with the .204 and bipod slung and the shottie at the ready. When i'm in the forward firing position I typically look through the scope with the shottie next to me for dogs coming in upwind behind me if I'm hunting alone

  2. Was in the same exact situation earlier on in the "pandemic".....mine is a nurse she got it at work. She quarantined upstairs I lived downstairs for 14 days... Temp checks twice a day for us both. Everyday I had to send our recordings to the DOH. I did laundry and only went upstairs in a tyvek suit and exam gloves and full headgear lol......it will get better man it's only temporary ! I'm not a big praying guy and honestly I don't even know you but I'll shoot a few out for you and your wife as well

My season is put on hold. My wife has tested Positive for COVID and she has it bad. Just about every symptom. She was and has been the most cautious and careful about this and it blows our mind how or where she got it. I’m on contact quarantine for 14 days now. I will be released on the 15th. I will hunt muzzleloader for the first time ever this year.

I enjoy reading this thread as it “lets me live” through all of you while I’m stuck inside.

Look forward to all the stories and be safe everyone

    ‘Bout Time
    Mike

  3. Thanks guys! Deffinitely a lot pf time thinking about his bedding. Staying out of the property till he felt comfortable enough to come out in the daylight. Hunted food plot this morn only saw a spike. So got down to a pinch point to eat lunch. 5 minutes later he comes walking by! Put my lunch down and grabbed my bow as I was on the ground. So waited till he was behind a. Tree drew and stopped him in an 18yd opening with not a twig between us! Got to get an exact tape but we rough scored him over 170 [emoji15][emoji15][emoji15] got to wait the drying period now! 45267.thumb.jpeg.a23513b84b9b32c5eb6a781321af878e.jpeg45265.thumb.jpeg.10ae6dda5b12a7da446d4fd6137c49bf.jpeg1104201239a.thumb.jpeg.34d78e4157a166bec13548cceaa01796.jpeg45273.thumb.jpeg.1f2f06cebdce4a52815019775510b018.jpeg

  4. Are these anywhere near wellsville? And do you know if they are open in may?

Just got down to Evergreen Trails campground to hunt state land for the next two days. Finding sleeping accommodations in Allegany County can be challenging. These cabins are open for most of gun season. Location is a few clicks south of short tract. Electric heat. No running water. Quarter operated showers. Wood available for fire pit. Charcoal grill. $75 per night.

  5. Check out the used/like new section below the main listing on amazon....sometimes you can get a good discount on somthing that has a dinged up package or repackaged. There usually all brand new

Amazon has good prices on Cannon track, holders, cannon rigger pedestals and bert's holders. All compatible with each other.

  6. Nice buck !! Don't ever be ashamed or regretful about shooting a buck like that with your bow. Sooner or later that 130 will come!

Well I blew my wadd like a teenager at prom night last night.  I told myself 130" or bust this year i put in a ton of work over the summer and was willing to be patient but that all went to **** when I hit the release on my second hunt.

I slipped in on an oak flat and not even 30 mins later I have a nice buck come in slow i get a look at him and its a 2.5 8pt he walks by at 10yds and I take a few pix then I see a big body dark rack run in I have 0 time to judge him and know I had one chance to stop him and and shot or he's gone... and I'm my experience I don't get second chance at mature deer.  I give him a bahh  he stops I pull back and try to get a good look but his head was in the leafs all I could see is dark tips and a big body and one step from being gone.  Well my itchy finger hit the switch while the war was going on in my head..  he ran 40 and tipped over on my 4x4 trail.  To say I was a bit baffled when I walked up was an understatement. The kids thought it was great they don't know the difference between a 115" and 130" that ment more to me then meeting my goal.

  7. Coyotes are taking over! Buy a few traps and give it a shot...its actually fun...buttt they have to be checked daily which is a pita

Taking the morning off, trying not to Old Spice too many stands early in the season. But speaking of stinking up stands, here's a couple of pictures from last night. I'm getting routine coyote movement in one area, and while there were deer moving through prior to the coyotes, there has been nothing since. Last year, a neighbor reported hearing lots and lots of yipping and howling, and our deer sightings were really low. Has anyone else had this issue? I'm hoping to let a friend of a friend trap this winter, but until then I guess my best best is to arrow one. It's too suburban for shooting them rifle after dark, unfortunately.

  8. ALL the rivers!

My comment was based on the ironic statement you made and was meant in jest. In my mind your comment translated into:"Let's make some trouble".
Apart from that, I fully agree with closing down the Salmon River. The DEC lowered stocking this year to protect the hard hit bait population, but now they close the river in order to protect the salmon reproduction.I was silently hoping that they would have to import some fresh stocking fry from the west coast, but you can't have it all.
