  3. Hi guys i have a few questions for you all... I just bought a crestliner sabre and i need some advice on a few things. 1st i want to redo the floors with pvc decking boards, has anyone ever used that? 2nd theres a few spots on the transom that have a few spots like corrsion, i hasnt gone through or anything but they are worrying me, should i just weld them in ( filling) and then grind it down and repaint? 3rd thing i want to repaint the bottom( waterline) what should as anti-fouling? Its an aluminum hull. Thanks for your input and help. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. Oh ya one more thing for the angle of the bracket/transom i was reading a 12 degree angle is that correct? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  5. Hi guys, i picked up a crestliner sabre 19feet, it presently has a mercruiser mcm165 with an alpha one stern, both in very good shape. I would like to convert my boat to an outboard 150-175hp and i would like to do so by installing an aluminum engine bracket ( Gill engine bracket) that i will probably make myself. Im not 100% sure how to go about it but i do have a good idea of what i need to do. Does anyone have any info or pictures of how to re-enforce the transom? Im thinking of building up the transom with 1/4 inch aluminum plate and from there building up from the stringers about 3feet in, for extra strength i was also thinking of putting 3 feet of aluminum floor( instead of wood) and building that up higher on the transom and then bolting bottom and top part to the bracket. I would love to get some input to see if im doing too little or too much or is there a better/stronger way to do it. My name is Nick in from Montreal Canada you can write here or call me or send me your number i can call you Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  8. @Bozeman Bob thanks again Bob, its a 1990 sea pro, 204 w/a, the outboard is there but seized so its basically the boat/trailer, he is selling it 3000$.
  9. @Bozeman Bob hi thanks alot for the info, that boat has an 200hp optimax. i dont really know how to ask this but the boat has been out of the water for years, would the surveyor be able to see if the fiberglass has been delaminated or if the hull is safe? I dont feel like having to rip everything apart.

If i get a survey done but the boat for example has been sitting in a guys barn for 4 years... how would the survey come out!? i dont know alot about fiberglass boat.
