  1. It seems to be close to that time if year again. Thinking about getting out on Seneca this weekend if the weather holds out to handline some copper. Been away fron the lake for a few year honing our skills on the big O. Curious if anyone has been out or if anyone actually handlines with copper anymore? I was also wondering if any one has ever pulled copper on cayuga lake, seems like Cayuga has exploded with good trout and land locked fishing from what i have seen from reports the last few years.

  2. Seneca has been super slow, haven't done the laker tourney the last few years because of it. I took the girls out Saturday afternoon for a short trol and picked up one small lake on copper in 90ft and a small brown on the trigger down 30ft all in front of Sampson. All had a great time but five years ago we would have boasted 20 fish and just picked a few to keep. Times have changed and I also moved on to lake Ontario. 25160.jpeg25161.jpeg

  3. A great way to remove fleas off of wire if you don't already know this trick is to run the smooth part of a screw driver back and forth on the wire. You can clear a 3 foot section of wire in less than 5 seconds.  No need to "pick" them off.
Any trick for mono, Saturday and Sunday my lines looked like they had Christmas light hanging off them, little blobs every 6 inches.

  4. Took my youngest and dad out of Sandy today. Only had 2 rods in the water when 1st fish hit the dipsey. Boated that king and while I was letting that rod slowly creep back to 210 it fires again. So 2 kings and still only 2 rods in water. Eventually got all 6 rods set. We went 4 for 5 and my son got to fight 3 and my dad 2. Worked 100’ early and eventually out to 240’ then called it quits before the rain came. This was my son’s 1st trip and is now hooked. 4 fish on wire set at 210 Dipsey/SD/fly and 1 on Spoon of rigger. No down temp or speed. Headed west from Sandy. 5. Warrens closed last season.  Nearest place with a great selection of spoons is Screwy Louies in Fair Haven.  Nice people to deal with !!!
Sammygee, thanks for the screwie louies advice. Great guy to deal with, spoke with him and another charter captain. No hesitation to give some great info. Probably going to be my new go to shop.
