Fished a few times over the last 2 weeks. Was on a nice pod of active 2yr Olds and skips straight out in 250. Over the week they bumped out deeper to 270ish and touch west but were pretty easy to get on. Was a great spoon bite with just about all the good colors firing. Ended one evening on a 2 man triple on a rigger, dipsy and 400 copper all fired and dangit all we got all 3 to the net! Wed the fished seemed to clear out besides the top 40' of water showed tons of nice looking marks. With a bit slower action so i decided to pull the high rigger up tight to the boat and to my surprise at 37 over 275 we boated a nice teener king. Today was a bit different since we had finally got out for an early am bite. Went straight out and started in 200 on a north troll. Tons of bait on the screen but very few marks and only took a few fish out to 400. Turned around on a south troll and picked up a low 20's king on a 400 copper. Unfortunately the board popped off so we boated the fish and made a hard u turn.... well, that's exactly what the biggest fish of the season wanted, deep meat rigger fired and after a few hundred feet of back and forth we were able to land a mid 20's king AND a planer board. Ended up taking another low 20's unit on the deep rigger before heading in. Happy to be back at after a few years of limited fishing. The sound of a screaming drag just doesn't get old.... tight lines.

I've secured a motor, thanks to all those that reached out!
Eddy and Tom. I actually wanted to downsize from my 15hp. Was just more than I needed. Found a mint 9.9 and will have it this weekend.

Does this fit a particular motor ?

Looking for a 2001+ honda 8hp or 9.9 hp. Longshaft. I found one but it's a hike and I'd rather save the drive. Thanks in advance.

Hans the carver was the capt for that catch. Dude is legit, puts his time in and earned that prize. Possibly a lake erie record. Totally deserved. And it was caught right "in the hood"

I've said it before, I'll say it again..... ANYBODY can buy a boat and take it out ! I just keep the mentality that they just don't know any better.

Getting close !!
Get in it !!!
This is an awesome tourney with a fantastic cause. Steph does a great job and I've never seen anybody at weigh in / after parry not smiling, laughing and having a great time.
I wish all the captains the best, but I have a feeling the small boat army will be creeping up that leaderboard again this year !
Going to have a SWEET spinny/meat rig/meat combo this year. 100% custom made specifically for the event. Stay tuned for the reveal coming early next week !!

I have a set of 16# torpedos, painted black that I just don't use. I'm looking to trade for a set of 12 or 13# sharks. Let me know if there is some interest out there. East of Buffalo and prefer to not ship. These are the "torpedo" look, not torpedo manufacturer.

[emoji106]I don't get it.
My apologies. I was wrong. I just double checked the specs. Here they are.

Here is the spec from Honda Marine. Just do a google search. Too easy. It looks like the only difference in the 8 and 9.9 outboards is carb and rpm rating, the 15 is of bigger displacement.

Swwet! Always a great day when you can R&D baits instead of focusing on the specifics replicating what's working. At the risk of embarrassing myself publicly ill refrain from mentioning things I've caught fish on..... regardless, nice work out there !
