  1. I'm late to the game here, but seeing as I just got my bow buck from '23 scored for P&Y, here he is. I first saw this buck in 2020 when I bumped him from a hedgerow and then when he stopped I took a shot and (luckily) cleanly missed. He showed up on my camera a week later as if to let me know to stop looking for him. I then got him 2 or 3x on camera in 2021 but never saw him while in the field. In 2022, we had pictures of him in velvet and I got to watch him chase does and run off smaller bucks from 400 yards away during bow season. Come 2023 I would get sporadic night time trail cam pictures of him right up until the day he made a mistake. He walked out of the standing corn about 45 yards away and then turned and headed towards my stand. From the time I first saw movement until the bloody arrow was in the dirt was only about 30 seconds and then the shock set in on finally wrapping up our history and tagging my biggest (by far) buck to date.

  2. We went 2/4 this morning with 2 kick offs on j plugs before we finally had a solid hook up on one. The water east of Port seemed to be warm top to bottom, but other boats were having hook ups around us. We turned and were trolling westward straight out from the break wall in 100 fow 85 down when we finally found good water temps and almost immediately hooked up the first fish we boated, my biggest to date since having my own boat, with a 20lb female. 15 minutes later when we were about to start pulling in lines, we had a spoon on a rigger kick off and we got our second king in the boat. Called it a day after that due to having family duties to attend and we were already an hour late getting back. 🤷‍♂️

  3. We watch your reports and the videos you post up on yourtube everyday they come out! Its always fantastic information that helps steer us the next time we hit the water. I don't have charts on my boat, so the lines you reference are lost on us, but we know the 29-31 lines are out in deeper water lol! I think we are going to try to get the whole family on the water today for an afternoon troll. It may be short lived as we have a 7 month old now and this will be her first time on the boat, but if we can pick up a fish or two it will be a good day of memories and that's what we do it for.

  4. We went 3/5 this morning with 2 coming in on a spoon (moonshine sniper) and out biggest coming on meat behind a dipsy. Carbon 14 had a kick off and headshake but no hook up and the other dipsy lost half its meat but again, no hook up. Both spoon hookups were down 50 in 120-150 fow. The meat went off out in 200 fow with a size 0 dipsy with o ring back 200. Was a good day on the water and memories were made for sure!

  5. Carbon 14 is a tried and true and never leaves my rigger lmao! The other gets changed up depending on what people are catching on. My usual spread is only 5 rods depending on who I'm fishing with, but 2 riggers, 2 dipsys and a leadcore is usually my go to spread. Last Sunday I was out with a newbie from work and we went 0/2 one on a spoon, one on meat behind a dipsy but it seemed like the good temps were pretty shallow. I'm hoping my kid can fight his first salmon tomorrow in the boat, but my luck with him out there hasn't been good as of yet 😅

Hey all... I’m looking for a speed/temp at the ball setup. Like depth raider or such I’d love a fish hawk but It’s out of my price range right now.

    Thanks in advance everyone!

I'm in the same situation but I figure at this point in the season, I'll keep searching for a "must buy" deal on a fish hawk or I'll wait until next year to buy a new one. Good luck with your search!

6 mph is idling way to fast. i would try idling it down to about 3.5 then try the bags. i have a 21' glass boat with a 350 mercruiser. idling at 650 rpm's runs me at 3.0 mph. what rpms are you idling?

Idle is about 650, the problem i was having was the thermostat wouldnt kick in and cool the boat unless I was running around 1k rpm. Replaced the thermostat and had the same thing going on when we went out the other day, which is the only time the bags have seen water so far. Today I replaced all the belts on the engine and I think that may have fixed that problem. Plan on going out tomorrow morning to see how it goes now.
