  1. Got out for a late morning troll (10-2pm) and an evening troll (6p-dark). We made the trip over from Ohio as we do a few times a summer usually, so I try and contribute by posting our sessions. Morning started out full of boats in that 100-120 FOW, tried to troll out around everyone out to 190FOW, but did not mark anything and didn't move any rods. Finally trolled back in that 100-120fow area and got bit multiple times, and marked fish. Lost a big fish, landed a 12lber, 8lb and a shaker. Big fish was a meat rig on a 400 copper. Green/black colors, sorry don't know exact color name. 12 and 8 lber came off a rigger 67 down with a fishusa alewife spoon/gold back. Evening bite was much better for us as there were far less boats out. We stayed in that 90-120 FOW in the evening and marked bait and plenty of fish. Took several fish 8-12lbs. 400 with meat was the most consistent, but a couple came on flasher fly and spoons of all colors, blue glow and green glow as it got darker. All fish were caught east of the port.
  2. Fished for a few hours in the evening out of oak. Had 4 bites. 2 20lbers a small steelhead and a miss. One came on a rigger meat down 93 over 160fow. The other was on a dipsey 1.5 setting back 300 (regular dipsey) over 190 fow with a blue silver salmon candy regular spoon. No probe, so I have no ideas about temps. Lake settled nicely and it was a great evening with my wife.

  3. Anyone else troll strictly at night for chinooks? Looking to give it a shot, and assumed you could troll just as if you were fishing in the daytime? Glow spoons I would assume would make good baits. Just looking for any general tips. Thanks!
  4. I’ve seen several posts about the ice cold water in close lately on the south shore. I’m new to the trolling game, can anyone explain what that does to the fishing? Seems like people are trying to avoid the cold water now? Is that not good? Thanks!
  5. Anyone ever consistently night fish for stagers? What cons have you found while doing this, that may go overlooked? Also do you find it effective enough to consistently try it? Thanks!
