Two Scotty Depthpower 1116 downrigger. Including black Shark 15lb cannonballs, Chamberlain and Scotty releases. Purchased new in April 2023. Pittsburgh, PA $1000 -
I've exclusively been running the DW Standard or Michigan Stinger Stingray size spoon for kings on riggers and dipsy divers. I recognize there's a place for the magnum sized spoons, but am kind of unclear when to go with the larger size. Any insights?

4 river setup is in play. I’m planning to run mag divers on 1 setting (deep) and #1 divers on 3 setting. I use 30 lb torpedo 7-strand wire so I should be in good shape. Thanks for the advice and the YouTube videos have been very helpful on getting going in the west.

Thanks! I’ve actually thought about adding a second pair of downriggers and just stick with a pair of divers. Only 8.5 foot beam so I’d have to run wingers to keep them from getting tangled

Actually we did exactly that… started in 200 and trolled Northwest until 300. We didn’t mark a fish or bait. We turned back south and found them in 150-170 off Sixmile. After the wind switched they shut off completely. -

Took almost Two hours to find them but then it was a fast bite before wind changed and shut them off. Went 3 for 4 on kings. Stingray Frog and UV Pickleseed spoons on dipsy divers at 300 and 325. Riggers were quiet. -
Very interesting…. I’ve used divers for years so that’s clearly easier. I just started fishing the west since I live in Pittsburgh and still learning the area. Seemed every boat I’ve seen out of Wilson had planers. What dipsy settings? 1 and 3 on the high diver? Thanks for the input!

Any reports out of Wilson? Since the winds are subsiding I’m going to fish in the morning. Memorial Day we got into the kings in 280 fow but I’m not entirely sure if they continue moving into deeper water or if they hang in that area. Thanks in advance.

I currently run 2 riggers and 2 dipsy rods for kings. What would you recommend for two planer board rods? I feel like I’m missing out not pulling something with the planers. Thanks for the input.
