  1. Wild wind conditions. 2-4ft rollers at 7am, only got worse. First time I felt how small my vessel actually is out there. No windshield and tiller. Started in 12-20 fow with the usual spread and nothing for 2 hours. Went deeper to target kings and got into them. By then the waves were 4-6ft. Switched out my shallows for diving sticks, and the size 0 dipsys for size 1. 40 fow marking lots of fish, took 8 of them about 7-11 lb and the best of the day was probably 15-17. I lost 2 rods today as my down east holders snapped right at the base 5 minutes apart on what I could only assume was bigger kings. So if anyone catches a king with a spoon in his mouth dragging a dipsy, wilderness 9'6 with 47lc reel.... Let me know 😭 Ah man I lost 2 of them. Who loses 2 rods 5 minutes apart!?
  2. They told me $4000 on the phone with wiggle room
  3. Got at a flea market. They produced very well for me. Lost one, broke one. Looking for brand as they are unmarked. TYIA
  4. Left Irondequoit bay around 7a headed east. Another day of barely getting set up before they started firing. 5 kings 1 coho and roughly 25 browns landed. 5-6 got off. Lost 2 lures and broke 1 by a king. Great day. Headed in when the wind got crazy IMG_20260418_100758.heic IMG_20260418_082714.heic
  5. I called the Marina, they actually bought it from a guy named Greg a month or so ago. He said he would sell it to me for $3k but the keel is rotten and fiberglass has collapsed. Could be a huge money pit. He sent me pics. Said I could have the cooler that says Advocate on it. Maybe see if I can grab some rod holders or the old cannon down riggers while I'm there.
  6. Hey Gambler, I heard! Would love to see it. My concern is the condition - I've heard it hasn't been winterized and out in the elements almost 10 years. Who owns it? You got a phone #?
  7. Hi All Capt. Sam was my grandfather. I was 17 years old when he passed. I have fond memorie of hunting and fishing as a boy with him and my father. Dad passed in 2013 not long after Papa Sam. I have my own boat now and recreationally fish often. Would love to link up and hear your stories over coffee. -Nick Dattilo
  8. Thank you Shattered for the kind words. I would love to link up with some of you who knew him, maybe you have pictures or some small token he gave you. 🙏
  9. Hi everyone, I've finally made an account on here after years of skimming through. My name is Nick Dattilo, and I am the Grandson of the late Capt. Sam Dattilo of Advocate Charters. I am 33 years old. Self employed general contractor and avid recreational angler. I am also a husband and father to 2 girls. Last year, I bought a 1990 Lund Pro V 1700. I call it The Joel, named after the original owner. I'm highschool pals with his nephew, who showed me picture books of his life. He had a cottage on Seneca where he would fish for perch, lakers and salmon. Trophy mounts lined the walls throughout the cottage. Joel was a great hunter too. I never got to meet him, but from what I can tell he was cut from the same cloth as my father and grandfather in regard for their love of the outdoors and sportsman lifestyle. I hope to keep those spirits alive on the water with me, and maybe for some good luck! Joel passed in 2017 in the early summer. The boat was left in the hoist un-winterized for 8 years by the time I got it. I resealed the lower unit, cleaned the fuel lines, bought a new battery and it fired right up! Included with my purchase were 2 boxes of OEM parts and service manuals for the Yamaha 60hp 2 stroke that powers it. Joel kept organized receipts dating back to 1991. Overall very happy with the boat and hope to use it a lot before it inevitably needs a transom - which I may do myself. I live in Clyde and will often launch out of Sodus. You can also find me out of Irondequoit, Bear Creek, Hughes Marina and all over the finger lakes. Outside of fishing and family I am also into writing and performing original music, and pre-1970 Harley Davidson Motorcycles. I will talk your ear off about any and all of the above if you let me. 🤘
