  1. At 4:30 am on 7/3, we arrived at Sandy Creek boat launch to get on the water early and was surprised that the boat launch was blocked by two teenager on matching 50 ish cc Honda dirt bikes. This was a surprise as it was dark out. A few moment went by with no words so I drove my truck/boat around the circle to prepare to back up. The teenagers were fumbling around with all the bags of goodies/drinks which they dropped and left in the launch area which included eggs(not hard boiled). They finally moved out of the way and we could hear them running their mouths but paid no attention since our attention was to get boat launched. They drove off. When I parked my truck in the parking lot, I didn’t see/hear them on their dirt bikes but when walking back to the launch, I heard them back in the parking lot. Again, not paying attention, I proceeded to get ready to head out in the lake. To my surprise, around noon when returning to my truck to load my boat, my vehicle’s windshield wipers were propped out, gas tank cover propped open & side mirrors pushed in and can only assume it was them. Like why would anyone mess around with someone’s vehicle. Warning if you run into these teenagers at the boat launch as I suspect they live in the area. No words were exchanged so what would prompt this activity other than immaturity.

  2. 7/3 - left dock around 4:45 am w/ my son and we struggled to get a bite from 80-200 fow so we picked up lines around 8:30 am and ventured offshore to just shy of 500 fow, between Hamlin park and Bald Eagle. 1st bite came in minutes on a flasher/fly Combo on downriggers 80 feet down - 18 lbs. Next few bites came est. 30 minutes apart again on flasher/fly on downriggers - 15 + lbs. caught juveniles also. Boated 6 kings. Took a chance going offshore and we were excited to catch/release them for another day. Great father/son trip !
