  1. A reminder that we are having a work party this Saturday April 7th at 10 am, at Shumway Marine to get the fish pens ready for the delivery of 85,000 Chinook and 10,000 Steelhead that will be delivered on April 11th. We need to put the nets onto the pens and also put the pens into the water. Skip Shumway said we could use his electric hoist to put the pens into the water. Please be on time so that we could get this done quickly. Dress warm!! We will have coffee and donuts for you.

The work shop should only take a few hours if we recieve enough help.

    Thanks in advance.

  2. Hey Larry- this isn't the old "fishin for fun" user name is it? If so you did a trip with me a few years ago off rochester. We did a bunch of teenage kings and coho's- i lost my probe? If this is not you then sorry.

Anyways, If you areinterested in fishng the bar this spring I will be up there and have a few days left open - I can also steer you to other captains that run top notch trips in the bar area. Shoot me an email or pm and if you are still interested and I will get you on a boat (either mine or someone elses as stated)

  3. Just a reminder that the Rochester State of the lake meeting is tonight.

State of the Lake Meeting announced * Wednesday, March 14, 2007: 7 - 10 p.m. at the Ingel Auditorium, in

Building 4 (Student Union) on the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT)

campus, Rochester, Monroe County. The meeting is co-hosted by RIT and the

    Monroe County Fishery Advisory Board.

  4. just a reminder that tonight at 8pmish there will be a discussion/chat on the 2007 pro/am series rules and changes. It will be held in the tournament chat section. Jerry Felluca (running rebel) will be going over everything and answering questions.

For anyone not familar with pro team rebel ...they have caught more musky than any team out there. Seriously, team Rebel has been a long time competitor in the series, to many top 10 finishes, and is highly regaurded by both other competitors and the tournament committees.

  5. pmjasper,

welcome to LOU. IF you head about 45 minutes west from Sodus point you will come to Rochester. I.bay and the Genny river have a real good spring brown trout, rainbow trout, coho and chinook salmon fishery during the period you are coming up. Stickbaits in 3-4" size in black/silver, orange, green and chart. run 75'-100' back off planer boards work as do shallow set dipsey's and downriggers. Spoons 2 3/4-3 3/4" in frog, orange, red, black/silver work on dipseys and the boards.

You will see alot of fishing reports during May on hot baits and areas, so keep checking the board before you come up. Long line, reeljerks and a host of others will be posting on rochester area. Fishstixs, woody and a few others will have the sodus area covered with reports.

p.s. alot of us can be reached on channel 08 on the vhf. ;)

  6. coffee shop - don't you mean photoshop?

Come on guys. There are alot of users of this board and we have not had feedback from most of you. We are working very hard to make LOU more secure and the BEST fishing site on the net. Let's hear from some of you.

  9. NEW YORK STATE CONSERVATION COUNCIL NEWS FLASH

    January 25, 2007

Governor Spitzer announces that he has selected Assemblyman Alexander "Pete" Grannis as the new Commissioner of the Department of Environmental Conservation.

Assemblyman Grannis has served on the NYS Assembly Environmental Conservation Committee since the mid 1970s and is a strong advocate for a clean environment. He is also known as an opponent of trapping. He fly-fishes and has a mixed record on hunting issues.

Judith Enck has been appointed Deputy Secretary for Environment and will remain a close advisor to the Governor on all environmental issues.

New York State Conservation Council President Harold Palmer and Legislative Vice President Wallace John plan to meet with Commissioner Grannis in the near future.

  10. Hey Jerry,

Steve-(King me) & Rick (Yankee troller) With his dad Will not only compete this year (maybee not all 4 tourns.) BUT will crack a top 10 finish EASILY (with alot of hard work ) These guys are bursting to accomplish this consitently NO MATTER what rules are laid out. ONLY BAD LUCK will stop these two teams

I am the KING of bad luck! :x Looks like i need to go start sharpening some hooks and bending some spoons 8) See ya at the bar :?: :!:

  11. Tom,

well said. Like I said before - it's the prestige not the money! If you can not try to do it on your own (without communication) then why try! No gratifaction in placing with someone elses help, and on the flip side what fun is it to compete against a group of guys working together?

The way I look at a true pro/am it's -run what you brung, balls to the wall, go big or stay home, let's see what you got! Not hey man what you doing, Joe has 3 on spin doctors, 150' off the ledge is hot - that's just another day not competition!

I will be probably pulling out from the pro/ams if the communication rule is not changed.
