  2. boaters along the shore areas from N.Y-Delaware are having problems from sedement in fuel tanks. They are constantly changing filters and in some cases having to empty & flush fuel tanks . A friend of mine with a 2 yr. old boat had to flush his tanks several times! Carburated engines should have shut of valves at tanks so that carbs. can be run dry when boats are not in use for lengths of time. The alcohol can attack the internals in the fuel bowls. Some float needle & seats that are not made of Viton material will be affected .

  3. a few years ago we went out off the salmon river in 60 fow & using crippled herring jigs caught 4 for 6 kings . I read an article on using shimano butterfly jigs out in the deep waters off Oswego last year and had about the same results. It's like any other method of fishing ,you have to work at it to perfect it!

  4. How is open communication ever going to work? I don't want to know WHO HAS WHAT and if I'm doing quite well I'm sure as hell going to keep my mouth shut. Although if my BUDDY is struggling I assume it is My obligation to help him win ??? Or possibly create an ENEMY!!!

I just don't understand ! I don't think if I was fishing the WHITE MARLIN OPEN with a Calcutta of over a possible million dollars I'd tell my GRANDMOTHER what was going on !!!!

    Enough said Capt. Randy

  5. Tournaments should be closed communication except for emergency situations ONLY! If I'm going to enter a tounament, it's for my own gratification as to how well I or my group performs. I don't want to win a tounament by using others information. I feel enough info is given behind closed doors during the tornaments that the radio is not needed. We all spend many hours out there trying to be the best at what we do. Thats why we enter TOURNAMENTS . Isn't it for the GLORY? Or is it for the $$$$.

  7. Here's another trick I found to reduce tackle loss on dipsey rigs. Instead of tying the snap swivel direct to your wire, first tie a 120lb Spro swivel using the same knot that was shown , then tie about 2' of good 50lb mono with the coast locksnap swivel at the end. It works as a shock cord when the fish hit violently or your people seem to have a problem in setting hooks! It works great & yes the small Spro barrels can be reeled into the rod guides without damadge. I change the mono about every three days when the dipseys are hard at work. I did not loss a rig last year & took over 170 kings on our dipseys in Aug. It also depends on which snubbers you use behind the dipsey, I run Lure jensen's with the dacron inside.

  8. Dick, Yukon Installed an 8hp high output on his 30' Sport Craft. It pushes his boat up & down the river at 5mph. He says it trolls great & is super on fuel. I plan on installing one this fall on my 265. Check with Mike's Marina He also makes transom brackets for the boats.

  9. Dick, Yukon Joe put an 8hp high output yamaha on his 30' Sport Craft this past spring. He loves that little motor, it actually pushes it up & down the river at 5mph. He says it will keep his boat under power even in 4' to 5' waves . Trolling is super & fuel economy . It also is tied into his auto pilot and works great. I'll probably put one on my 265 next fall.
