According to the DEC they do have natural reproduction in Lake Ontario.

andy, my probe rigger comes up pretty smooth. I don't have any problem with my coated cable unless it is self inflicted. My probe rigger is my shallowest rigger in my spead. I have cannon 10A riggers. My probe rigger is about 8 years old. I don't use anything for a guide. My other mag 10's jump when being brought up. If you want to try one of my torpedo weights PM me.
-
I run torpedo weights and have no problem with my probe rigger swiveled to a 30* angle.

thanks for the report. The thermocline sounds like it moved up. I hope to be up again on Wednesday.

SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS
====================
My plan was to put in at Fair Haven and run to Port Bay and set up. It was way to foggy so we headed northwest about 4 miles at about 12mph. we set up in 160 fow and had our first fish of the day before the 3rd rod was set, glow frog mag 95 down. I did mark much so we kept trolling northwest and southwest to get towards port bay. green protroll with a green crinkle fly was good and a white double glow spin doctor with green and regular hammers went often on the wire out 330 on #2 setting.silver protroll with a green crinkle was good once the sun came out
from about 9:30 to 10:45 it got slow. We headed back east a little and moved to deeper water. We found fish in 230 - 260fow. we dropped 3 out of 4 fish in deeper water! the biggest king of the day bounce my scale between 23 and 24lbs. we did 3 smaller kings about 10 lbs and the rest were 15-18lbs. what a beautiful day to be on lake ontario.

same with me Owners but i like size #1.
-
andy, i use 40# for my leader and never broke 1 yet. I am sure you are using really good snap swivels. I don't use howie snubbers so i can't comment on those, I use opti snubbers. You should not be getting any line twist.
-
thats a tough question, just 2 huh...........
spook & NBK
As soon as i hit submit i will change my mind
did i mention glow frog?
-
OK My boat is a soft top 2005 islander 221. I think i am going to go with the raymarine a65 with the silver map. But it is not a WAAS unit which i don't like. my second choice is the Garmin 530 but i don't know what maps are available for it. speaking of maps is the navionics hotmaps prem lake map good?
-
I use the 600. 1000' of 30# fits perfect.
-
i had the same problem with one and sent it to tuna tom and he fixed it and put a new drag in for me.
-
nice rainbow!!! The lake walleye population is on the decrease, a lot of eyes go over the falls and are in the river. It is tough to target them during the day.
-
I am in the market for a chartplotter. After looking around my head is still spinning. I have a few questions, is an external antenna a lot better than an internal and which chartplotter would you buy if you wanted a 5" screen and wanted to pay about $800.00 or less.
-
what rollie said. maybe a bit deeper
-
at the end of august there can be a good smallmouth bit on the southend drop off. but the smallmouth fishing has been slow for the last year
-
I think my trip to Lake Erie is getting canceled. If it is I can fish the Cayuga LOU-ALL.
-
ya trimming the motor up will make a little difference in trolling speed. about .1 or .2
-
I run mine all the way down and yes, in the water
-
what do you want to fish for?
-
andy, all of the walleyes i have caught on owasco have been in the northern third of the lake. All of them have been in or close to bait pods. i do not know where the baits is on that lake so i can't give you a good answer. but if i was fishing for them i would start in 20 fow and work out to the middle around brutis point. i catch some walleyes during the day on sliders on that lake

this is the first one i have broke in 15 years. i think the laxan will do. thanx for the info
-
i broke a cannon low profile laxan swivel bases last week and need a new one. can anyone give me a catalog # and a item # from this. All i see on the web site is the stainless steel one. I have a cabelas card with lots of points on it and would like to order it from there.

thanks for the report. I will be up there Sunday if the winds are ok. Did your probe rigger behave today?
