  1. Chris,

I know, boy what a high. I this is what drugs are like stay off of them. Seems to me that fishing the lake is all that I thing about. Colors, depth, where to fish, and the kids are doing the same thing, when we going fishing dad. Love it. The wife isnt real happy about it. From Oct 15-Dec 15 she is a hunting widow, now she says that she is a fishing widow. I say let me buy a bigger boat so we can all go out

My son asked me the other day if the kings got bigger than that, I told him that he was in for a treat come this fall he is so excited. Think I got my hunting and fishing budy for life.

  2. Well got out this afternoon and went 1 of 3 went out for a couple of hours at Bear Creek with the kids. Just got set up and got a 3-4lb rainbow, about 17 inches probly would have let him go but he hit the stick from the side and got him in the gills blood all over the boat. Get him on a black and silver boom stick. About 10 min after that lost a King at the boat, let the 10 yr old have a crack at it, looked about 10 lbs got to work on my netting, but we had a blast. Trolled for another hour and had another hit this time on the firetiger, that one didnt even get the rod out of the holder only hits on the long lines 275 back. Had the riggers going had a blue fly with a crome dodger set at 10 ft and a watermelon spoon on the other at 5 ft 75 ft back and nothing on them.

So it was a good afternoon. Let the 10 yr old reel in the king took some line on him then he would get it back and it would take more line. We were all hooting and a hollering it was great. I got a couple of Pics but im at work right now so Ill have to upload them in the morning.

Talk to you all later. Everyone have a good one

  3. Well guys got out to IBay in "The Big Ugly" this morning. This was my first time on the bay and trolling, so things didnt go well for me either. Stayed in the bay, was too rough on the lake for me since I had the kids with me. So while I set up I had my 10 yr old hold her straight. Got 4 lines out two long lines 175 back with a firetiger on one and a yellow perch on the other short lines were 100 back black and silver on one and blue and silver on the other fishing in 15fow Long line with the firetiger went off like I had a 50lb salmon hit it got an a 20lb northern pike. Next pass on the east side on the firetiger aot a 3 lb largmouth, and that was it for us today that was at 7:30 this morning and stayed out till 11:00. Ended up getting frustrated with my 10 yr old told him to go strait he decided that he wanted to turn and ended up going in a circle, lets just say that was a bad thing.

If anyone wants to go out later today let me know, looking for some fishing partners since I dont have any. So drop me a line if anyone wants to go out later.

    Good luck to everyone else.

  4. Bill,

I was reading your post and I went out today and got most of theose stick baits at Gander Mtn. Boy was it picked over though, found most of the list King Me put up in his previous post. The one that I could not find was the Billy Borrow, what is that. Got a call from Woody184 tonight but I wasnt home will try to get ahold of him tomorrow. Wanted to get out tomorrow but got to rewire my boat. Got it out in Canandagua lake today for the first time with me as the owner, so watch out guys "The Big Ugly" is in the water and on the hunt.... I hope to get out on Sunday in the morning. Am going to go out of Bear Creek and troll to Genae Power plant and back. A guy that I work with said that it was hot up there yesterday. His son went up there and caught 20 browns, I was impressed since I have yet to boat a fish.

I am limited on the funds that I have, am going to go get some stick baits at gander MTN tomorrow but as far as the set up with the gear that I have how do I do that.

Thanks for the help in advance....

  6. Ok Guys I have been reading quit a bit on the forums but with so much info, I am getting a little overwhelmed with it all. Let me start this post by saying I first got to go out on the lake 2 summers ago with Hooked Up Charters on the 3rd of July. Had a great time and caught a nice 23 lbs salmon, and lots of Lakers, and got the bug right there. I recently bought a 1969 19 ft seafair and got two cannon esi troll 2 downriggers, went out and got Okuma rod and reel combos. I got 4 8 and 1/2 ft combos for dipsey divers and 2 7 1/2 ft for the downriggers.

Here are my questions, with everything that has been going on with the family havent got out yet, just finishd this semester with school, got 3 kids and a wife that was on eggshell with Kodak, but am getting her (the boat) in the water for the first time. Boy have the little ones been begging to go fishing with dad so on Saterday am going to take them out. I am going to put her in the water on Irondiquoit Bay. With being new to the lake were do I start?, I mean I want to go were I can get some browns in the boat for them I dont want to take them out for the first time and strike out, so any help wold be appreciated. Colors, depth, speed, location. I have mostly spoons in my takle box, I have a few flies, and flashers, dodgers and other things that I dont even know what they do but got them on Ebay cheep. So any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the time guys hope you can get me pointed in the right direction.
