  1. Selling a mint condition kingpin zeppelin...

Blue spool, black backplate and not one single scratch or nick...This was the only piece of fishing gear I ever took care of and its not even a year old...

Original box, pamphelet and neoprene reel cover this reel is #162 whatever that means and has a brass reel foot...Every other one ive scene on the water doesnt have a brass foot for some reason...

I will not ship this to avoid possible loss, damage and to just make a smoother transaction...Located within Rochester NY, and am willing to meet serious buyers...

First 650 takes it, although non-insulting offers will be considered...

  2. If you dont want to deal with fleas, might as well sell all your lake ontario equipment...they show as soon as the water warms up into the upper 60's or so, and stay until.the waste cools off...yes, it SUCKS!!! and i hate fleas more than any other invasive species but they arent going anywhere and we must cope...a little investigation and you will find ways to lessen flea impact...

  3. Im cruel, and the only puker on my boat stayed for the whole trip...just kept giving him water, pretzels and said stay out of the cuddy, find a building on land and focus...

In 12 years of 1st matin', think only once did we run in for pukers, left'em at dock and back out we went...most people dont want to be that guy and ruin the trip for everyone else, although they sure take a lot of abuse from there buddies and will keep you laughing all day...

  4. Light leaders and the smallest swivels you can use...predominantly a spoon bite, super slims, standard sizes and stingrays will get them...usually fish longer leads off the riggers as well...slide divers are preferable over regulars, but a standard wire diver set up will take fish...

  5. Im not familiar with olcott, so cant give exact locations...usually we are looking for structure...hills, dips, rolly bottom and sunken islands...if these are found and have bait and 55-58 degrees on bottom, would think the browns would be around...run some lines in water as warm as 65, they dont seem to mind warmer water and some days when the temp is real deep, have had great days with all browns coming from 62-65 degrees...temp, structure and bait is what your looking for...im not a good brown fishermen, but no one else replied so hopefully more knowledgeable people will reply...

  6. Big foam cylinders and romex staples...put swivel on foam and stick a point of the staple threw the swivel eye, its now stuck and wont move...wrap the line around and put another staple over the hook to pin it in place...many variations but this works well...

  7. Sounds like your very close to putting it together...only things ill add is try 5-6 foot leads from flasher to meat head...i know plenty of guys that run shorter, but i never second guess 5-6 feet...also, when tuning, use the side of the boat and you actually want it spinning on the fast side because you are going faster on top than down 99% of the time, and if your heads are tuned to barely roll at the surface, they might not when you send them down...i guess bringing your SOG to what you run down below will fix that...stay with it, and good luck...

  8. Personally would stay with spro, sampo, and dreamweaver in the smallest size you can get away with...in 20 years have scene two sampos break, and they were always the ones with split rings...they weaken over time and the split ring will straighten and bye-bye fishy...ill pay two bucks a swivel any day as they do last, and need to be confident the swivel will take a beating us trollers dish out...large swivels will dampen lure action but have scene plenty of people using much largely swivels than i ever would, and they catch plenty of fish...

  9. Happy to read your out enjoying yourself catching some fish while rehabilitating your shoulder...people do eat gobies, as i know a few asian guys that do and they like'em...also, there are canned gobies available at some ethnic stores...ill eat almost anything, but wont even try a goby...

  10. You can use flasher flies right now...myself, dont typically start using them until im fishing 40 fow or more in the spring, but in the fall have taken kings inside rivers trolling flasher flies...sometimes they are a little wary and finicky in the spring while they wake up from the winter, especially in under 20 fow, but as soon as you start fishing out a touch deeper, or if you find some kings off shore, dropem a flasher...

  11. Use the satellite temperature images from noaa and look for very tight bands which shows more drastic water temp changes...northerly, or west winds will help push the bands together and are often accompanied by slicks on the surface...off shore thermal bars dont all have fish, but if you find the right one, you can pull lots of steelies and sometimes the kings are mixed in...many years ago in June, i found a thermal bar 22 miles off of i bay over 600+ fow and had my way with steelies from surface down to 20 feet, and kings were mixed in...one side had 56 degree water and the other 49, and the fish were on the warm side...

  12. Great work Captain!!! Who wouldve thought the king fishing in rochester is better than the bar??? Although it makes sense with this winter...hope the kings stick around...on april 15 2012, recieved a report from Captain Zucco, that he did nine kings of i bay...went out the next day and hooked 25 kings, amongst browns and lakers and they were gone the next day and never came back that spring...please stick around kings!!! Before 2012, its been a long time since the kings were around like this...

  13. Myself will be pier fishing every day weather permitting, except for weekends unless the lakes to rough to get out and do have my derby ticket in pocket...for the past two weeks been catching fish on summerville, one trip to i-bay, and one trip to charlotte...fish are around and webster has been hot lately, but i stay away from there and prefer summerville...being the type of person that stays away from a crowd, im fine with a few less fish if i am not clustered which happens on webster...been out literally every day but one the past two weeks from 430 to dark or so...if you wanted to meet up for derby reasons im cool with that...could pull a big brown off the pier...

  15. That shark that was found dead at I-bay, was brought in to S&R bait where pictures were taken along with a news crew reporting...Ron used to have a picture of the dead shark laying on his counter but don't know if he still has it...i would love to see a bull shark in our lake but with them come risks, even though the river with the densest population of bull sharks in the world has zero recorded attacks...used to think about bulls wading russell station in the summer for smallmouths...think ill stay out of the water during the summer, and re enter during steelie season...
