  1. By crowded I mean a set that guides them too much or has too much backing. It can be slight. A gray fox will go in a cubby, a red very seldom, a yote almost never. Yotes like to see past the set so you don't want it too tight to brush or a goldenrod field. They are all smart but the yote is nervous on steroids.

  2. Yes the trench set is real good. Again, the lack of backing and the sight through the set are bonuses for yotes. I also think fox dont mind fresh dirt under their feet but yotes shy frim it a bit. I really try to blend my traps if im after yotes.

  3. Thanks for the pic help king. Here's a cat we caught also. Cats don't mind a tight set with heavy backing or even a cubby but a yote just won't commit to the tight space and lack of sight through the backing

  4. Just my take, but here goes. I can't see using a expandable for any other reason than convenience. Fixed blades will fly if your bow is tuned correctly. I understand sometimes it is easier to just shoot the expandable. No tuning necessary. That's fine but you have to realize you have brought another issue into the equation, blade deployment, and pick your shots accordingly. Anytime you kick an arrow at all you lose penetration. You want to keep the mass centered behind the tip. I agree shot placement is critical but so are two holes, an in and out. If possible I'm shooting a striker.
