  1. If you are still looking I have a EZ steer system with the connecting rod and the clamps and connectors for outboard to outboard. I will be heading out of town starting Saturday I live in the Bergen NY Area. Message me if you are interested or texted me at 585-465-0436.  I would take a $100 bucks. I also have a kicker motor bracket with the quick remove bracket I could sell for $50 if you need it.

    Awesome story
Any information on thus deer surging the original bow hit? Was it weakened, infected, meat tainted etc etc?
I’m curious what happens to these magnificent creatures following a non lethal hit
    Thanks and congrats

He hit it low and back quartering away it punched through the lower flank came out cut the bottom of the chest and cut the opposite front leg. The only infection was in the front leg just above the hove but it had not spread. When we saw it last night it was walking just fine so my thought was it would have made it through the winter but you never know. We are glad that story ended on a positive note and my son said he learned a lot from the experience and believes it will make him a better hunter.

  3. My son Cam shot his biggest buck to date last night! It has been real slow hunting for us all gun season but he has stuck with it and it paid off. Cam had History with this deer he had shot it back on OCT 15th with his bow but the shot was low and back but luckily it showed up on trail cameras a few days later so we believed it had survived the encounter. In my son's words I feel bad but I learned a lot from the experience. Well last night we were sitting together in a Hedge row over looking a winter wheat field and this buck stepped out at over 350 yards and even though he shoots his 270 very well he passed on the shot and I think it was the right decision. The deer went back in the woods but stepped out again but this time it was 250 yards so he decided to take the shot and dropped the buck in his tracks it was a great moment for us and I am very happy I decided to go with him so I could witness the whole thing!

  4. Well the opening day was tough for me I only saw one small buck and that was at the end of legal shooting light. I planned on sleeping in on day2 and going to a property to set up some natural ground blinds in hedge rows over looking green fields for evening rifle hunting. Well that didn't happen I got a call from a neighbor telling me he saw a nice buck and a bunch of other deer cross a road into a property I can hunt and he said I should get my butt in there Sunday Morning! Well I struggled to get up and didn't get in a stand until 730 but it didn't matter I ended up shooting what he thinks is the Deer he saw the night before. This Buck is my personnel best I shot it with my TC Omega 50 cal at a 110 yards and it was a great shot it caught the heart and a lung. It was great having my son Cam with me and without him I would still be trying to get that Deer out LOL! I would like to Thank Rob and all the guys who post on this thread it is by far my favorite read everyday during the season!

I lost my Dad, October 12 due to Covid and the Hospital protocols. He was my hunting buddy for 45 years. He was the finest rifle shot I have ever known. Through those years I chased hundreds of deer out to him, in Pennsylvania. He was an expert at hitting running deer, and I can only think of several times he missed over 45 years. More than that, he was a very fine man and friends to so many. He was 84 and still active. He taught me how to hunt. He taught me how to live and treat others. If your Dad and Mom are still living, don't take it for granted. Visit often. Call often. Sincerely, Garry Mitcham of Clarence NY. 7. Very proud of my son Cam last night! I gave him a little pill bottle of my fathers ashes and told him to take his grandfather with him! He used my fathers 270 Winchester that was built in the 1960’s and made a 200 yard shot to take his best buck to date!! Life is Good! A Big shout out to our good friend Tom Without him this could not have happened!

Well my kid got it done this afternoon.
Long story, short he wasn't even planning on hunting this afternoon. Around 130 he was inquiring about hunting. I told him he had two stands he could hunt with this east wind. He ask me which stand would I hunt. I told him I would hunt the set I hunted this morning. The other stand choice you may see more deer but the other one your bound to see the right deer. And boy did he see the right deer. Just as he was approaching the stand he saw a doe pop up. He dropped to one knee and then he noticed there were five bucks all around her. He picked out the biggest and let it fly.
Proud dad moment for sure. His biggest to date.
