  1. Thanks Mike,

Cam is a Great Kid he is not naturally great at anything Sports, Hunting, fishing even school work but he has learned that with hard work he can succeed at anything. I think his struggles have made him appreciate other people, especially ones that are positive towards him. I am lucky to have him as a son and a hunting and fishing buddy!

  2. Cam and I have read all your positive comments and we thank you guys very much, he loves this site as much as I do and he hopes to share more success with you guys in the future! Cam also said to say good luck out there and he is looking forward to reading about you and your familys success this hunting season!

  3. My 14 year old son Cam took a nice doe on our 5 acres behind our house sunday morning, this is his first doe. He shot a small buck when he was 12 but came up empty last year waiting for a 2 1/2 year old or better buck. He missed a doe last year so he was determined to shoot a nice doe woth his bow this year. He told me his leggs shook for 20 minutes after he shot her! He made a great double lung 10 yard shot which turned into less than 100 yard tracking job! Now he said it will be easier waiting for that 2+ year old buck.

  4. I have used that knot for years without fail I even attach my down rigger balls with it and it has never failed but I have lost a couple of dipsys to kinks that I straightened out and I thought would be ok. I always keep tension on my wire rods with small bungee cords when they are not in use so I do not get kinks and then I immediately hook up a dipsy for weight when I unhook the bungee cord so my line never has slack in it. But if you think crimping gives you more confidence go for it but if you are getting kinks you will end up with the same results while spending money on something most people will say is not necessary.

  5. I just got back so here is my report. We tried bait fishing with not much luck on keeper perch. We did ok on smallies not with numbers but the ones we caught on bait were huge 4+ lbs. We used bass minnows and worms. Pike fishing was up and down my best technique was 30 lb power pro with a 2oz inline trolling sinker and 3.5' of 50lb triline big game for a leader I dont use steel any more but I do replace this leader anytime it gets a nick and I did not lose a fish once with this leader. Lures while trolling Storm flat stcks perch and gold colors were ok, F18 raplas in black and gold and black and silver worked pretty well. The two best trolling baits were the green NBK when the sun was bright but the lure of the week was the Carbon14 worked great early in the morning and whenever it was overcast. I took at least a dozen pike over 30" with the carbon 14 and dozens more of fish under 27" but most of the good fishing was from 5:15 am to about 7:30 am. Other guys were using lead line and it worked well also. I tolled where ever there was a steep drop off that had fish on it I tolled into 15 fow and then turned out hard out to about 30fow and I keep this zig zag going, we held the rods so we could lift them when we got in real close and then would pump them for action on the way back out. Also we would let out 75' to 140' of line according to the accu depth line counters. I hope this helps. Mid day fishing for anything was way harder than it has been in the past. We also trolled at night a little with no luck. Let me know how you make out!

  6. Same here caught 2 kings one around 10 lbs and a shaker both on white SD white and blue atomic fly off the rigger. Fished from 90 to 330 and only had these 2 hits in about 165' down 80'. It was slow yesterday late afternoon as well I feel sorry for the people I have been taking but I love being on the water but damn a little more action might be nice LOL!

  7. I shoot a mathews Z9 which is designed for long draw shooters I believe it would be perfect for you and it has almost 9 inches of brace hieght which is why I bought it and had it set up for 29 inch draw lenght it is the most forgiving sweet shooting bow i have ever held so check it out! Just checked the site it can be set up for up to 32 inch draw lenght.
