  1. Kinda ironic, I was looking through Dave's Ka-Boom baits this morning and saw all the goby patterns. http://daveslures.com/GOBYS.html
  2. Conditions were much tougher this morning than friday evening. Seemed a lot of the skinny water had cleared, but early we were able to boat 6 brownies and a bass on the first pass from the point to a mile west of maxwell. Picked up 4 more as we slid out deeper and away from the boat traffic. On the last pass boat traffic in tight had thinned out, so we decided to take that back to the point. No fish hooked, but with the clear water we could see walleye after walleye in 6-8 FOW. Some real brutes in the 10 lb class. Pretty cool sight to see!! All fish CPR'd.
  3. I launched from the state launch on Rt 14. The docks aren't in yet.
  4. I know its a little late, but my buddy and I blew out of work a little early to fish the evening. On the water by 3:30 and fishing by 4. Fished from the point to just west of maxwell. Went 8 for 8 all on sticks. Hot colors were thunderstick jr in Gold Chartreuse Specks and B/G j9 raps. 7 browns and 1 coho. we'll be back out sunday am. can't wait!! Ben
  5. Does anyone run the Otter boards? I'm curious as how they run in rough water. This morning I had a board dive and break the tow line, but I read that the otters don't dive. Just wanted an opinion before I dump 200 bucks on a set. Ben
  6. Went out of sodus this am, but only fished for 45 minutes. Just a bit too sporty for my boat. Not bad for the short time we were out, 2 for 3 on thunderstick jr's.
  7. Jerry, We managed one snow, but that was during regular season. We never chased them during the spring season, not that I am dissapointed though. Watching wave after wave gets a tad bit frustrating. Hans, Last I knew Jim moved out to Ennis, Montanta and is a fly fishing guide with his daughter. Jim was my high school bio teacher and thats how i got the first job out there. I was filling in for Mark. Corrupted???? My mother still shudders when I tell the stories of drinkin in the Black North at 17. Had a riot hanging out with the Pirate crew, as well as all the other captains. Just a bunch of great guys!!!
  8. Bookmarked them all!! Thanks guys, I appreciate it! Ben
  9. Does anyone have the weather links that forcast wave height? Thanks! Ben
  10. Hi Guys, My Name is Ben, I am 30 and from Newark. I worked as a mate during high school and college out of Oak Orchard. Worked for Jim Shouey on the J-Team, and then Chris Efing on board the Chrysalis. If only it was a year round gig I would have never "grown up" and got a year round job. Currently work at the family buisness as a CNC Machinist. Just bought the newest boat I've ever owned last year, a 2002 Mirrocraft Aggressor. Love pulling boards for spring brownies, and chasing staging kings in august and september. I'd fish the big pond more in the summer if I could pry myself from the walleyes. Too many fish, so little time!!! I hunt waterfowl like its religion, but I do manage to take a few days to fish the tribs. Ben
