  1. There is a free launch on the east side, which alot of people use and most boats will launch fine and depending on what time you launch can get busy. Then there is the state park launch on the west side, which I see alot of bigger boats using. Both launches are almost right on the lake. The state one is off some side roads but has signs showing the way. Both are right on the oak orchard river. There are also a few marinas that have launches.

  2. Ray,

So they won't give out Seneca perch spots but will still help you by adjusting your back (strung by toes, like those inversion thingies on tv) and will give you a hot meal (mmm fish head soup, done right I heard it's excellent). we're all here to help each other.

I might not give out all the info for walleye spots but will give people info on where to start. On oneida the north side of seneca shoals was hot for me last year with deep diving rapalas.

  3. Sorry rod, you were driving the boat so good we didn't want to mess things up. Maybe with jeff out friday you'll get to reel one in.

Looking forward to this weekend, hope the weather changes for saturday and you're luck is better for this one.

  4. That's why my wife and I bought our lifetime licenses also, we bought them last year and would pay them off in 6 years at that time, but will be sooner as the fees go up.

Misty IV i just looked on the DEC webiste and they do not offer a lifetime nr license.

I agree with you Ray, why do they need to mow all summer to make the medians look like golf courses, stop mowing so much and plowing pavement and we would save a few bucks and save gas. Also why did NY and other road crews stop fixing roads in house. Now to get a road repaved we contract it out. Why not have road crews fix the roads in summer, not mowing as much, I think we would save tons of money then.

  5. I the bad call from my marina about my motor that it is not worth fixing. It's a 1977 55hp Evinrude that I bought at a garage sale for $100 and put maybe 4-500 more into it, including a steering cable for the boat. So I had the motor for a couple years and it doesn't owe me anything. Might try to part it out as I had the starter rebuilt last year if anyone is interested pm me about parts.

So what I am wondering is if anyone knows of marinas that have used motors for less than $1500 in the 50 hp range boat is rated to 90 hp. I will be looking on craigslist and ebay, but got a used motor years ago at a marina that they went over as apposed to buying a questionable motor from a private seller.

I know there was that 70 hp in the selling area and would probably have jumped at that, but I was a day late.

    Thanks

  6. If we get the warm weather and rain they are predicting it wont take long for launches to open up. Been thinking about digging the boat out of the snow bank as I need to get some work done on the big motor. Kicker motor still works though, so I could get out.

It seems like a long time until the browns really start but it will be over too soon. Guess I will start digging the boat out when I get home from work.

  7. Last I heard is that the ice is fine 6" or more but it rose with the rain and you have to take a big step to get onto good ice from the boat launch area.

I was out sunday and caught a bunch of bluegills, you could watch them then the water was clear, and sight fish the bigger ones. Had out tipups for pike but no takers.

  8. Not trying to put salt on the wound but you didn't have the reciever locked?

Years ago my dad and I were fishing then came back and the trailer popped off the ball. looking at the hitch someone must have loosened the nut. As we check the tightness on the ball to hitch. They must have been trying to steal the trailer but it was locked and that's the only way they could.

    Fricken scum should be shot.
