  1. Fishing the river mostly round Carelton and US shore flats infront of Burnham Point, there is a long shelf 12-16 down to 30's a between the south shore and carleton that didn't produce, came in and hit them. I heard the lake was producing at tibbets by didn't want to take the ride. I was casting crankbaits, black and gray but most the bass where caught drifting plastic twister (watermellon and black) with a spinner.

  2. We hammered the smallmouth pretty good in Cape Vincent over the weekend. Same thing, 90% keepers and mostly in the 14-17" range. Had a ball. It seams least where we are up there that the bass fishing had been terrible for 6 years or so but last year it shined a bit and this year was amazing. It was like my childhood all over again. Most of the bass where caught in less than 20' and really didn't have too much luck deeper.

  3. Well I picked up a BSP extreme reel with graphite 6'6 rod. Put 14lb mono on it and i'm doing well, got the clutch figured out i think, but getting the brake where i want it is tough. I can pitch and flip pretty well. Any advice on increasing casting distance?

  4. I've gotten em on accident bass fishing, even gotten a few when I got the knack of it in the genny and I-bay. I here al the time about the fisherie in Erie. Anybody target em in the open lake (ontario). I fish bronzies all the time and never hit one in the lake.

  5. Ok looking for some help. I got a 82 25hr Envinrude long shaft outboard I picked up last year. Had it looked over at the marina, had the lower unit pressure checked, passed with flying colors. The tech said the thing looked and ran great for its year and didnt' need anything else. Had him check it cuz it blew out some oil when I first ran it. Ran great all season, then started konking out on me. I'm about to pull it out of the basement. What it was doin is I'd give her a good pull, she'd start right up, rev up and then fade out withing 10-15 seconds, choke or no choke, throttle or none. I'm really hoping its pluggs so I can get it in the water, but...............I'm thinking I might be looking at a fuel delivery problem or dirty carbs.

  6. Looking for some help. Looking for some advice for the purchase of a decent baitcaster set up for large mouth. Been a spinning/fly guy forever and its new to me. Can I get away with a 39.99 special or is it necessary to spend a bunch for a decent set up.
