Have you fished the "cut" between Stoney and Galloo ? Last couple of years we found much warmer water there , not sure it will be there with this wind ???
-
I recommend the depth raider for one reason ... Digital vs analog
-
Tops super markets , salt brined mackerel .......:)

That's the beauty of henderson harbor area ... There is always something that's willing to play, even if it's Sheepshead !!!! I'm pretty sure we will catch something .....
-

-

Darkwater1. I won't need a ton but will "barter" for a bucket of them, keep me in mind and let me know .,....Ed, the old bait that you gave me will be used for cats in the Susky!!!!!

Isn't it mostly about the " smell trail" or oil trail that the herring baits leave, I realize the proper roll is important but the bait heads will roll a hotdog if it's thin ????
-
I want to try filet them for bait heads , not sure if it will be worth the effort ?? Any thoughts or ideas ?....
-
Anyone know if they are available at the bait shops yet ??

I love to stack so one of my riggers has a flasher fly or a Twinkie rig , the other rigger is stacked with two spoons . Bottom rod is 5ft. Below and 10-15 ft. Behind , top rod is just above and 5-10 ft. Behind F/F . Throw in two dipsie running around the same depth but way behind, one with a spinny and fly and one with a spoon. This is my go to spread in the spring summer and fall . I run flutter spoons with the meat rig and Nk 28's with the flasher fly rig . ( different speeds )

1st. Sat. In May is the walleye opener, I'll be heading to Chaumont, black river area hoping for a wall hanger, if I was looking for numbers it would be Oneida, Salmon in Ontario would be west on the south shore .
-
Pay very close attention to your fish finder, there are a lot of tricky humps and bumps, esp. On the west shore

Final flight will be in slip 70,, and count me in for BFF !!!
-
There has been many times while throwing a jig for eyes on the susky that the bite will shut down , within the next several casts you will hook up on a Musky or northern . Lots of time there will be two or three that move in .

I guess it's my OAS (over analyzing **** ) that keeps me stacking rods, 8ft. Below/10ft. Behind is hard to achieve with a slider or a fixed when your running a 15ft. Set back . I just feel that it's easier to replicate the "program" when I'm stacking , typically only run a 6 rod spread .

Money for BFF is in the mail !!!! Thanks for heading this up ,
-
I like to use them fresh out of package on day one, then put them on ice with rock salt for day two ....
-
I use my buddy heater, takes 10 min. To de-fog the windshield while I'm putting rods together....
My wife loves me I think!
