The browns were sitting in pretty warm water. It was 72 on the surface and 67 down to the bottom. The fish hawk was only needed for the speed

Anthony, you would have been laughing at us back at the dock when the bag broke and the fish went back into the water. Had to climb in and feel around with our feet to find them, They weren't floating.

-
The bite dropped off for us too, that is why we headed east. It picked right back up around 250 Fow.
-
we started off the morning off Braddocks for a change and ended up in front of hedges....stayed out around 240 to 280 the whole time.... after all the hours me and my 11 year old ended 2 for 11. he caught the two. Steelie and a king. I tried sharper hooks, shorter leads, longer leads, and praying but I could not keep a fish on the line. PURPLE WAS THE COLOR TODAY.
-
exactly, why do they think I want the little ones?
-
Set up at 6am and had four in by 7. 2 steelies in top 40 feet and two lakers bottom forty. everyone is on the 85 - 105 FOW line. Finished 7 for 7 last being 13.11 brown sitting at 17th.
Just me and my 13 year old nephew....he was tired after the last one... the deal is I rig and he catches. That is until I teach him how to rig and then I am just the driver.

I made the mistake of trying to come out around 5PM. The lake was steady and we cruised out to 110 FOW and then the clouds came back. We bounced around in the waves for about an hour but they were really climbing to 3-5 range and we dropped two, so we called it. Good temp set up down 60 was 54. 70 was 48.
Try again today I guess

Lesson learned.....make sure you enter into the derby.
6 year hooks in to a monster, breaks the surface and looks to be a 10# or better steelhead. He lost and learned that sometimes the fish wins.
We had a steady pick of lakers, steelies and kings out to 220 and back.
The kids called it and wanted to catch browns , so we headed in late and caught two....one on lead the other on a slider DWB.
First was 10.5 on a hand scale, the second was 14.8 on the hand scale.
anyone have suggestions on where to get the big one mounted....I have it in the freezer....going to give it to the kids as a present...
I also took some pix of the boat we were next to for quite some time....he was fighting a fish right after we had one on....so we took pictures in case they wanted them....let me know if you can identify the boat.....
