  1. Makes sense. Thanks again for your help. I just got back from Gander with my Eastern Basin map, and will be studying it carefully for the next few weeks. I can already see that the timing of our trip should be either earlier or much later for the walleye, but hopefully I can get my wife into some perch at least. Do you know if they tend to get wormy in the summer?

    Thanks,

    Duane

  2. Fished Henderson Harbor (Henderson Bay?) for the first time on Saturday. Was hoping to find some of the lake walleye in the bays still, but talked to a guy at the marina that didn't think we'd have much luck with walleye, so we fished for perch most of the day instead. Ended up only catching a handful of them, but had fun exploring all the different structure and learning our way around.

I'd like to learn more about this area, so if anyone has any advice I'm all ears! We used to fish Black River Bay in May, and it seems like the walleye were in there from the spawn still.

We're planning on going back again soon, and any advice on where/when/how to catch walleye around Henderson Harbor is appreciated! We just have a 16' open style boat, so I assume we're not going to want to venture out on the big lake.

    Thanks,

    Duane

  3. Was thinking about heading up to Cayuga to look for smelt this weekend. Has anyone heard if they're running? We haven't been in a few years, since hearing how the numbers have dropped, but we're curious to see if they're making a comeback? Not looking to take a limit out per person, but it's good fun and wouldn't mind frying up a couple plates full.

    Thanks for any info.

  4. Well, we fished from 8:30 pm on Friday til 3:30 Saturday morning, and did not catch a walleye. There were some storms moving through, and it got a little choppy at times, but much of the time we had great conditions. Tried trolling and drifting near the south shore (in both directions from the south shore launch), but no luck. We used Thundersticks, various shallow and deep diving cranks, spinner with leech, and even drifted a worm under a lighted bobber, but no takers.

Next time we do this I think I'd rather try the north shore, just for ease of staying in a consistent depth and not having so many obstacles, but we're still trying to figure out what we didn't do right...

Hope y'all had better luck than we did this weekend!

  5. Chris, Putrino said that some friends of his did well right in between us! Just downstream from Campville, in a popular little run there. Never would have thought of trying that at this time.

Thinking of going up to Oneida Friday night to do some night fishing! Want to join us?

  6. We hit Marshland Rd in the middle of the afternoon yesterday, but had no luck. Tried everything in the tackle box... no takers.

Saw a few guys out at Murphy's... are they still there?

That river sure is low for this time of year!

    Good luck all!

  7. Runs great. New charging regulator and impeller. Looking to trade down to a 70-75 hp that might be a little bit newer, or will sell outright.

I haven't done enough research to set a price, but will sell for fair market value.

This does have power tilt/trim. Prop is good.

Motor is on our boat now, and we have been using it. We have a trip planned on Oneida for May 14-17, and we'll be using this motor for that.

You can reach me at 607-761-8004 if you'd like to discuss.

    Thanks,

    Duane
