Cayuga's west side off rt 89 just south of varick.

I'll be jigging lakers there late tomorrow and Tuesday, you never know what a jig may come up with--north or south of the launch?

Thank you very much for the heads up, these are great rods and $29 is unbelieveable, my fishing partner lives close enough to run down and score a few for both of us. Really appreciate your information!

Thanks DJ, long point is a little closer and I like the east side a little better. Ed--I'm from Connecticut (thanks Geno and Kevin Ollie) but now I live in Delhi NY. My partner claims I never worked much anyway, so it was probably a different Bullwinkle that you knew.

Thanks Lucky Lure, 2 1/2 hour ride that I now know is worth it, may see you this weekend, good luck.

Thanks, at least if long point isn't open I can head down to Myers and cure some of the cabin fever.

Anyone know if there is ice at Long Point or Deans Cove launch ponds? thanks for any information.

It's a bit shallow and muddy in the channel between Waneta and Lamoka but we got an 18 foot Lund through last year and the water is probably higher this year

Fished Long Point 7/31--my first impression was an algae bloom, or maybe the whiting effect--calcium carbonate precipitation from plankton photosynthesis. John Gaulke posted it was mud from the heavy rains on 7/30. I'm not sure what it was, but lake trout jigging was slow to slower.
