  1. Legacy- do you use DW, Stinger, or another brand of kevorkians? i know the DW and Stinger are different; the DW being green/orange and the Stinger being purplish/red. When people mention kevorkians in fishing reports- I am never sure which model they are talking about. I have never used a DW kevorkian, but I have used the stinger model and have had moderate success with it.
  2. What have been some successful spoon colors for running mupped rigs? I know some people like running the same color with both the cheater and main spoon, and some people like to run different colors. What have been some good colors/combinations on your boat?
  3. thanks for the leader tips boys, and good info on the slide divers. its great to hear other points of views
  4. My diver poles are 10 feet and my boat is a 24 footer- perhaps I'll stretch the length to 8 or 9 feet. Thank you for the input guys.
  5. I run 5-7 foot leader from my divers to my spin docs. I use the 8 inch dreamweaver spin doc. I was wondering what leader length from divers to spin docs was popular amongst the fisherman here.
  6. Ray- I do realize that, and I value your opinion as well as everyone else's and believe me, there is much I can learn from everyone here. That being said- I am just curious about this one. The original 42 spoon came from an NK28 green thunder with a glow and a lazer ladder to the green section, with an eye toward the hook. I have been thinking of trying the same thing with the NK28 Purple thunder. I have the superslim purple thunder, so if does not work out, no biggie I still have that one. Thoughts on the doing the same thing to the Purple Thunder spoon as what was done with the Green Thunder to make it the 42?? Just curious for some input, thanks!
  7. Yes you did, apparently I should... Lam- I was not going to say anything at first, but that is a funny little joke, I guess I would award you with the stand up comedian of the year!
  8. I guess the fish could attack from behind, then use his arms inside his mouth to turn the fish around By the way... I like the spoons they look pretty good!
  9. Ray- I do not doubt that probably 90% of the members here know more about fishing techniques than I do. But what I can tell you, is that what I wrote in my previous post comes straight from the mouths of people who have studied fish extensively their entire lives, not just some high school biology teacher- guys that have their PhD's and know more about fish anatomy and physiology than 99.9 percent of anyone on the planet. I do not understand why I should save my wind when I can correctly make a point, and with all due respect, have the education to know the correct answer. As for showing me how to get more fish on board, I am all ears for that!
  10. Fish attack bait fish head on or at a diagonal angle. Bait fish will almost always be found head first in the stomach of a Predator fish. It does not matter what species of fish you are dealing with- fish almost always attack head on. For several reasons; but one main reason- attacking a fish from behind will give the fish problems sallowing and transporting the fish to the stomach, because the bony, spiny parts of fins will create problems along the digestive tract. As for the debate about where the eyes are located on the spoon- The "Lazer Spook" spoon; the eyes are located on the swivel end of the spoon. The "42 Second" spoon; the eyes are located on hook end of the spoon. Both are great proven spoons. I will say that I am much more knowledgeable when it comes to anatomy of fish (studying marine biology for 6 years as an undergrad and grad student) than when it comes to catching them. But I do a pretty good job of pulling fish from all the great lakes.
  11. I have never heard of that before. I guess if a fish is hungry enough it might bite, but stick with what works is my advice.
  12. What is a good length to put a flasher behind rigger cable? I have had moderate success with 15-20 back.
