He has been on the lou board for a while now and just has never joined i have convinced him to join when we get back from this weekend. I know I am counting the days...Been pretty busy this spring and only had the boat out once so far. I am booked for camping site 313 at Sampson and Slip 88. Will be going up Thursday to set up camp and get some fishing in prior to Saturdays derby start. Hope to catch up to some of you guys maybe talk some fishin....

I push 2159 hardtop trophy with a 9.9 Yamaha no problems love it. Mine just has the regular prop on it as well, not the steep kicker motor prop. I have no problem getting slow enough without bags. Consider the fact that a 8hp is not really that much cheaper than a 9.9. Also no worries if you buy a 9.9 without a charging system you can add the parts to the yammies for the charging system for around 100 bucks. I also am a huge fan of the digital servo driven throttle controllers they are awesome precision throttle adjustment from the helm with a turn of the dial....

A affordable setup is a daiwa accudepth 47 reel with a diawa heartland rod with twillie tip. I run two this way works fine and does not break the bank.

From what I understand the Marlin downriggers are the predecessor to the Mag 20's is this right? When did they quit making the marlins? How do the marlins compare to the mag 20's? I thought about buying a used pair of marlins. thanks in advance guys...

Well, decided to not get a slip for the season at the south end this year so.....I will back up to Sampson for the derby!! Looking forward to it. I will be slipping there and will be in site #313. Looking forward to pulling another Lunker from the depths this year. I cant' wait. On a side note Was good to get out and fish with you Nick I know Chris is ready to go again very soon.

I have used the Offshore Angler power plus downrigger rods from Bass Pro. I have been very happy with them. Compared to the heartlands it has alot more flex and you can really feel the fish on there kinda keeps yah more interested... They are relatively cheap at like 27$ bucks a piece. I will buy more of them...

I will be fishing Seneca out of the South End. Hope the lake is in better shape than the Memorial day derby...
