  1. Met fishing partner Dan at the Chamber at 5:15. Made decision to head to Sampson and launch. Pointed her south and it wasn't long before the 3 hour workout began. We had a great day back on Seneca after fishing Lake O for the last month. We ended up with over 20 fish by 8:30, doubles and one triple, hardly ever had all six rods into the water. The browns, bows, and lakers were on the feed. We ended up with 8 browns, biggest 6lbs, 4 bows, biggest just over 5lb, 2 landlocks, both around 18", and the rest were lakers with the biggest almost 11lbs. The 300in copper, 90' rigger and the 68' rigger we the work horses today. Lakers liked mountaindew sd followed by bw filthy Frankie on thethe 91 rigger. The coppers were pulling bf sea sick waddler and uv alewife. The other riggers we experimented with a variety of lures. Landlocks came on cheaters with green scorpions. Browns shut off around 9, but the lakers were none stop. Pulled lines around 11:30 with fish count around 30. Bait was insane with arcs all over them today. Weeds were very minimal and fleas were none existent.

  2. Reel Stories won we took second. Sorry dont remember third.  Tried to dethrone Nick and Seneca Lake but came up a pound or so short.

Fished with Dan making 3 for 3  in tournament play!  We ended up with lunker, 2 oz short of second  and just under 2lbs short of first with only a 4 fish box.  Guess we shouldn't of been throwing those juvenile landlocks back in the morning thinking we would find a nice brown or bigger salmon!  About 10 we decided to keep a salmon and good thing because it was the last one we would catch.  Landlocks were coming 40-60 down on the diggers on a variety of flt spoons and my lucky honeybee spoon.  Steady pick of Lakers all day, ending up in the 20's.  Lakers were first coming on the deep coppers with dark colored DW SS, Then the riggers with Green or whit paddles with white flies, then the dipseys rounded out the day with Dan's secret hot paddle combo, that also hooked the biggest fish of the day, that came unglued at the back of the boat after a 10 minute battle.  Fished mainly north of Sampson.

Really like the box style tourney, hope we get one of these to stick and continue to get bigger.  Time to play on Lake O!

  3. might want to let us know, I had to take the day off from work already and I know some others would be traveling some distance to fish.  it's too bad because I think people really enjoy the box style tourneys.  Maybe there should be a way to call the Prisebox to sign up?  I was not planning on signing up until this weekend because I have to drive and hour each way to sign up.  How many boats are actually signed up?

  4. We fish Keuka in the spring and fish the bottom third of the water column usually mid way between the launch and the bluff. I run my riggers down between 110 and 160 with the 160 the biggest producer over 160-170to fow. We run white sd with white or green flies.

  5. had a fantastic morning on Seneca fishing out of Dan's boat.  We fished from just before 6 to 11:30 and went 28 for 31, one short brown and a beautiful 7lb rainbow, rest were lakers with one pushing 10lbs, and a dozen in the 6-8lb class.  We fished the north end started out in the shallows with nothing happening moved out deep and it was game on.  We were actually getting streakers on the screen off bottom and watching them hit the riggers!!  you could almost call it!  fish came on riggers parked between 85-115 with white sd/white flys.  had a few on the 400 copper with same sd/fly set.  Very few fish on spoons.  No bait what so ever, water temp went from 54.9 to 53.4 with the south wind blowing.  Wish we could of stayed all day!

  6. Don't know about anyone else but I'm ready for the derby!!  Each year I meet new people and share stories, Thats whats make it so much fun, the beer does help too!!  We're headed down on the 22nd and camping at Sampson, site 226, i think.  Just look for the 2 Lunds!!  We have 4 sites in loop 5 this year, not including you BlueGhost.  I think you got our site from last year.

    Hey Nick, big fish Friday???

  7. Keuka is more like work this time of year! We were on the north end in Branchport, didn't do 60 but was in the 40's. Ran similar stuff but was in the 160fow and were running 160, 140 on theriggers and 300 and 340 on dipsey. Also caught a few on the 300 copper.
