  1. So I have a sport pilot system on a power assist mercruiser / kicker motor set up. The autopilot drive is shot and I'm looking for options to replace. A tech mentioned an octopus drive if it would interface with my pilot. I want the pilot for trolling so am thinking of just going to a garmin reactor...but figured someone might have a more economical fix.

  2. I understand both sides but I will tell you, I have over 400 acres of posted land and the trespassing has never been as bad as it is now. Last year I removed 7 tree stands, had atv roads cut, even had one jacka$$ put in a food plot!!!   I have people ask to hunt and honestly I let some of them on.  Those that i have not given permission have trespassed and prosecuted when caught.  Unfortunately the local jurisdictions do very little with trespassers.
I own a few parcels myself and agree 100%. Had 2 different people ask me who gave me permission to hunt on my own land last year. When I flipped the question on them they quoted my name as giving them permission! It only takes a few assholes to turn a landowner sour. I pulled a cell cam off a new food plot this year and left a note for the guy who rode his quad past my posted sign to put it up! Not many guys will get my permission this season.

  3. I run a 300 or 400 copper chute rod all the time. It can Get tricky but puts alot of extra fish in the boat. You will get tangles....but what rod doesn't? Move it to opposite side when fighting fish on other rods...or pull it if u get an unruly one on. No big deal. I have more issues with using boards than running a chute rod. Another advantage of the chute rod is it let's me know any time theres a cross current or I'm turning too fast.

  4. lakeview motel 716-791-8668 is right on lake road between Wilson and Niagara bar.  Wilson Tuscarora state park has cheap docks.  $19/night if you don't have empire pass.  $12/night if you have the pass.  Wilson has a lot more food options if you like to eat out. Bootleggers cove also has docks and gas.  Strait across harbor from the state park.

Lakeview motel has a large community kitchen and dining area if you like to cook your own.  I would opt for Wilson as you are docked between Olcott and the Niagara bar.  flexibility if the fish are one way or the other.

  5. I have a 4.3 and watched my mechanic winterize it a couple years before i started doing it on my own. I pull the plugs on both sides of the block. Stick a stiff piece of wire in the holes to dislodge any silt or crude let all the water drain. Put the plugs back in and run 5 gallons of antifreeze through the muffs. I use a 5 gallon fuel can modified with a hose attached to the muffs. Very similar to the kit my mechanic used. At about 4.5 gallons the antifreeze will be start to come out of the exhaust ports and I'm done. My .mechanic sprayed anti fog into the carb until it killed the engine. I normally skip that step.
