  1. I just wanted to put out a big thank you to all who participate in this website. Last year I trolled with a friend for the first time in my life. Three times total with one fish caught. I told him this sh*t don't work.

With your help we set up an awesome LL and brown program in the early spring.(Taking 1st and fourth in the seneca memorial day tourney) Then when the water warmed we hooked up a really good laker package. Taking what we learned we even graduated to the big O catching several steelies and a small king. I even bought my own boat complete with riggers and planner boards.

I have fished the salmon river for four years now and have never landed a fish. After watching the post on here and following your advice I come home with two days limit of kings, all in the high teens, this weekend. I really appreciate all the help from this site.

The local guys are top notch and willing to help with anything. Special thanks to Ray K., Rollie, Splitshot, Jason, Justin and many more. Thank you.

It's been an outstanding year!! never forget it. Streams, treestands and hardwater till ice out. See ya then.

P.S. any good salmon recipies.

  2. I'll take my stick and string to my shotgun anyday. No time like archery to be in the woods. I've got a bunch of does patterned out in a few places. Hunt these first but i'm betting the bucks won't be too far off as the bachelor groups split up. They chase does pretty hard here in schuyler county. Buck:does= 1:20 probably Not too many calls work though last few years nothing works. ACORNS! ACORNS! ACORNS!

  3. I have a 16 ft sylvan w/ 40hp johnson It has spent alot of time on the fingerlakes this year, especially seneca and cayuga. Very comfortable two man rig. Three will work if your small. Fishing has been consistent for a month now. Don't miss the early bite if you like those off fish!

  4. I'm a rookie troller and learned of this myth earlie this year. Three of us were fishing the seneca lake NLTD memorial day weekend. Two out of the three of us decided to test the theory we were sure to eat a few for breakfast. I was told not to touch, eat, or think about those lucky charms. That morning we caught 4th and 1st place browns by 7:00am. first is the hog in my avatar. 11.5 lbs Still waitng on the taxidermist. Did I mention it was my first derby and first ever brown trout. :o Now i'm hooked and have bought my own boat. I don't go fishing without eating one.

  5. Sean I don't want all your secrets, but are you ruuning near desden or south near starkey point. We did well out of severne a few weeks ago but had a disapointing day there yesterday. I didn't mark much tried everything from 80 fow out to 500 fow. Hopefully things will change and I can find the fish again. Oh well if it was easy it wouldn't be fun.

  6. I'm just itchin to stick something. Havn't shot much since the carp quit rolling in june. Just installed new string got her back on mark very happy with winners choice. Shot my first robin hood(probably a fluke) within 20 arrows. :o Groups are real tight though shooting out to 40yds.

  7. To make those a electric reels a little cheaper check out used window motors from a junk yard. Pretty sure their close to the same thing. Ford motors are good but the switches suck. Still reversible. My buddies home made mast rest in the front seat base also. We ran small ratchet straps to the front cleats for extra support. His is a 2x2 with an adapter ti fit the base.

  8. I'm new to lake fishing and when we go we strictly troll. However I would like try sawbellies without paying the $12 a dozen they want at the bait shop. What's the best way to find them? Was told to jig small gold hooks (#10) through the school. Can they be netted when close to the surface? will be fishing seneca and cayuga mostly. Also any suggestions as to where the fish are hitting them, and best rigs.
