Live Wire & Capt Vallium Spinny in the sun....White Green dot & Green frog Racer in the rain on the wires were go to!

The Chip version of both Live wire & capt V worked on the riggers as well as Chrome Mtn dew in the Sun. Mt Dew green glow in & all white chip in the darker days are hard to beat!

certainly have hit many thoughts & details on the nail head! As many have said.....should be a great read for newbies!

I would have cut my learning curve much shorter over the last 6 years if some one had filled me in on half the stuff! Well done!

Just an incredible run the last week. No doubt the Evening bite has been hotter then the AM but we have done fish all times out. The temp really moved in early in the week & so did the fish. We have been getting a really nice mixed box with the kings running in tighter, leaving a couple small spoons down on the riggers has picked up browns while the Kings have been killing the dipsies! Friday we had a king spooled the 300 copper got him back about half way only to have him cross up another line and break the copper at the knot! arrgghh...300 copper Gone! FRiday we made a troll out to 150 ( as we have been doing a mainly east-west troll) found some VERY cold water , made our turn back and the 500 copper pops. Not a a screaming run but some good weight. Bring it in to find a Laker pushing the 20 lb mark! Really pretty fish that my client decides to put on the wall. Sunday we dropped a few that should have helped the box, had a screamer on the 500 that we finally get in, only to drop him with a head shake 30 ft from the boat. hour later we hook up a beautiful Coho on the dipsie, make some awesome tuna like runs coming right out of the water! get him in, the client couldnt keep the dipsie up ....as cohos do he went around the out drive & then a rigger cable before I could get him in the net....GONE! A very nice fish I have no doubt would push 20 pounds.....Oh well. We still finished with a very good box & all groups rebooking for next year! Lets hope this week keeps up the action!

Came in town to attend the Atommik Invitational with an invite to Prefish with Team Popeye/Crazy B!tch on Big Fish Friday. We worked our way out to the 350 area east of the harbor with one 10lb king coming to the boat with the first rigger we set down. This hit came in about 140 fow...things pretty quiet after that for a couple hours. we worked the 350 to 600 area east of the Harbor in building seas & decided to troll west. Things were prett snotty out in the 600 fow area so we pointed Capt. Stengers Tiara towards shore on a sw troll. As luck would have it, rods started popping about 12:30 with brighting skies. We picked up a really nice Coho on the Port dipsie , but had a case of the dropsies for a bit after that. We finished with a nice King missing the 20lb mark by 6 onces...coming on the 500 copper!

Saturday I was picked to Ride with Team Striker out of Wilson for the main tourney. First time getting to ride on a 33ft Trojan, what a Tournement machine! The crew had plans of running quite away to the east to stay on some fish they had found in the waters Northeast of the Salmon River area. The Team had a pretty good morning started after putting four really nice fish in the box before 10:00, one on the rigger all the rest of the hits for the day came on copper of variouse lengths. We had been working the 140 to 200 area but our fish seemed to have moved deeper & the bite slowed. About 12:30 after a pretty quiet stretch the 600 copper takes a hit and a MASSIVE Run! This fish went deep into the backing & never came up in the column. After working the fish for close to 40 min & getting him with 100 ft of the boat , one shake of his head & fish gone. The team could only guess what the fish could have weighed, but after three huge runs no doubt it had some size. The team ended up coming in 11th out of the field of almost 50 teams...not to shabby for a team coming from the West end! A great crew that treated me like one of thier own. We had a the best weather day of the three days with almost calm seas, but never had that extra bite to get them in the high $$ area.

A big Thanks To Tom Allen & the Atommik Team for putting on an awesome event! A Great group of folks who put on a wonderful dinner & awards banquet Saturday evening on the Oswego water front! No doubt you will see an all VT team in this tourney next year!

Sunday I stayed in town to mate for Capt. Eric Steele & MadSierra Charters. Saturday evening was a goose egg for

his group with the hard w- sw wind building. Sunday we headed to the west with the plan of working our way out till we found fish & troll east with the wind. Once we got out to the 350 area ( a slow ride in 3 - 6ft seas) we had marked some pretty good arcs in the 325 area so we set up & begain our troll. We fired a rigger & two dippsies with out a fish hitting the deck! Could not keep them hooked up! We moved back & forth between the 330 - 300 area trolling past Alcan. We finally got a good rip on the 450 copper & a really nice Coho hit the deck. Get it set back up ( with aanother dipsire grab & go in the mix) and the copper takes a ride again! While the fisherman has this fish halfway we have another grab & go on the starboard rigger...no body home!! (hhmmm....Coho's??) We get the fish on the copper in turns out to be a Juve King about 15lbs. We trolled a bit longer & the crew had decided they had enough of the 3 to 6ft swells & we called it! Green glow spinny with a Sweet Pea Fly took both hits on the copper. Chrome/Green Dot Chip with a Hammer fly took a couple hits, along with a Blue Dolphin Stinger on the rigger. Temp was deep, any where from 90 to 120 down we found the low 50 degree stuff.

Over all a pretty good weekend in less then stellar conditions! Met a ton of great people & made some wonderful new friends! Be back out to O'town next weekend & there right through the month & into sept. Lets hope for some stable water & winds!

ARRGGHH...on my way out right now! I am going to blow a gasket if the came on the boat!

I have found the same...leave it on Auto then zoom once I find what I am looking for. I have a Raymarine unit, sometimes I will split & zoom on the area that I have my my riggers & dipsies set at (temp) Many times it's just the bait your looking for..sometimes you see arcs streaking up, but many times we have hits & dont even see any fish on the screen. But OHH BOY is the bait there!

There are some fish inclose...but very scattered. If you find some bait you have to stay on them and work over a tight way point. When the winds have allowed the 350 to 500 run has been better.

Never heard of Dec stopping a boat out there, that must have sucked

The DEC guys were very thurough but curtious. They checked all clients lic, equipment, My Capt. Lic & Insurance etc. They wished us good luck & on our way! First time it has happened for me!

Just got back from Oswego & ran the 3 weights you see posted. The ran awesome ...virtually No blow back down 90 ft at 2.5 & they ran true as promised! Def worth the $$

Fished wed evening west of the Harbor, found some bait at the 130ft line & kept working it. Ended the evening 2 for 6 with a 15 pounder on a dipsie & a 25 on the Gator spoon off the riggers. Went back to the same way points on Thursday as everyone else was running out to 500. First pass and the port dipsie fires....20 pounder in the box. We kept working this way point until the DEC decided to crash our show & vist for a bit. They were good to work with, but we drifted out to 200 while with them. Got back on the fish with one more in the box, ended up 4 for 8

3rd time was the charm for Scott & this fat female.

yup some good lAND NORtH OF MONTECELLO ive played on rt16 at the begining (or end i should say) of monon ditch,used to hunt stelhorns before he passed and his sister sold some the best hunting land in indiana 80acrs for 50k we found out after the sale

Well you have hunted some of the same area Ray! Our outfitter lives just south of Montecello. Most of the properties are south & west of there...but over all some great ground! No doubt the mid-west is the land of the monsters!

hmm twin lakes weigh in sta ,,i might go one more guess as to a "stellhorn " buck or one from buffalo area..

Any one who might be interested in a fall hunt in the midwest, my Indiana outfitter has had some cancelations and has some openings for firearms season during the peak rut. The tags are over the counter with NO DRAW! He has over 14,000 acres of prime ground over three counties in Central Indiana. Indiana is the only state in the midwest that has two weeks of firearms hunting during the peak rut! These are great dates in some awesome ground, all private land with NO HUNTING PRESSURE!
