Lots of fish caught in front of the Big Salmon, North/South Sandy Pond, on Saturday, but on Sunday, the marks seem concentrated in 50-65 fow, and lockjaw set in. Scattered, with the 4-5 fish occasional pod, from what we saw.

Fish have entered the river now, and are above the bridge on Rte 3.

  2. As been mentioned before, another part of the arsenal.

Have pulled 'em off big boards(not in traffic, as "trollers rage" will erupt) when they come in close. Works good.

Glow(or I have older ones that take a light stick) in the am, and when the sun is on the water, shiney ones. :)

    SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS

    ====================

My son(17 yrs) brought a friend this weekend, that had never caught a King.

After 2 rods go off(nobody home), finally the Dipsey goes, and were hooked up.

We hand him the rod. After 1-2 minutes, he lost it.

He felt bad, and we told him that no worries.

No sooner had we got settled down, and the sd/lime fires and my son has a good one.

    Boated a 27 lbs male.

We continue on the same line, make out turn, and pull back over our mark, and CV/sweet pea fires.

My son sets the hook, and game on, as he hands his friend a screamer!! 21 lbs male, but had an attitude.

The look on his face was priceless once it was in the boat. "This is the most fun I've had all summer!!!!" were the words that he spoke!!

That made my day right there.

We went deep/shallow off our marks but the wind seemed to building, so we pulled it, and motored back in.

Didn't go out today, as NOAA, said more wind. Long term for up-coming weekend looks good at this point.

Now that the Kings are showing up, hope all the rain, doesn't suck them up the river.

    Keep our fingers crossed. :)

  4. Awesome report, Bill. Mother Nature wasn't very friendly to us in Mexico Bay, either. By the time we set-up around 5:15am, the winds were already strarting to pick-up and by 9am, we had whitecaps and 3 footers. We stuck it out until about 1pm, trying all we had, but the winds and 4 footers were just too much to handle. But, awesome report and nice job, Jay!

We were there as well, in our Islander.

Only fish we boated were browns in that 75-85 ft flat between the Little Salmon, and the plant.

Ventured down the shelf to get temp, and ended up in 180-190 ft.

    Holy smokes!! Wrong move.

We were in 4-5'ers, occasionally busting over the winshield on the way back in to the Big Salmon at 6-7 mph.

    Semi-same scenario last Sunday.

I think we are gonna' have to send an invitation to the Kings, to come over and play.

Hope the wind is way less this coming weekend.

  5. The king came on a green slasher/twinkie.

    The browns went on spoons.

We also dropped one other fish. Suspected is was another brown.

Mike, we usually come out of the Big Salmon, and fish in/around Mexico Bay, and up past Sandy Pond a tick.

Thought we'd try our luck up there, Saturday.

Lot of structure up in that area by you.

Very pretty up around Stoney Point.

Folks that do not take advantage of this tremendous resource we have, don't know what their missing.

I do not take it for granted whatsoever.

BTW, my 17 year old son ran the back of the boat.

He is becoming a good fisherman.

Any folks been in/around there this year??

    Kings? Lakers??

Thinking about heading in that direction on 7/31.

    Thanks,

    Scott

  7. My 22 ft Islander jumps up on plane with it's 4.3.

I too know of the light bow attitude of those boats.

Have been considering adding a little weight myself.

Speaking of Islanders, All Seasons Sports, has a 22 ft. hard-top out front for sale.

It was "Reel Silver's" boat. :)
