I was at the hatchery yesterday and noticed a laker in the pen closest to the hatchery building. I have been going there for over thirty years and never saw one there. Thought it was neat to see.
I have a Redfield Revolution scope 4-12 40mm. I have never mounted this on a gun. It is basically new although I did use it to look out my back door into the corn field a few times. There is nothing wrong with this scope I got it as a present from my wife and never used it as it wasn't the scope I really wanted. I am selling because I want to get a Leupold VX3 which is quite pricey. It looks like these sell for 249.00 new. I think I would like to get 200 for it.

I would like to chime in on this one as well. Those lake trout rigs gambler is selling are spot on. The blades on those don't have the resistance that the northern king brand I have do. I do not know that you really need to have copper though. It will help hold bottom but is expensive. I just use mono and have no problem. Make sure your rigger weights are heavier ones. Trying with 6 or 8lbers would be a pain. Some days are tough to hold bottom with the currents being strong. If your line is going strait back off the boat it means you have a substantial amount of blow back and you will need to let out a lot of line to hold bottom. Most of the time if you are not on bottom you will not get them even if they are there. Constantly check your lines and readjust your rigger depth. Let it bounce on bottom and bring it up 1-3 ft. Wait a minute and do it again. Changing trolling direction can help a lot as well. One direction may be awful and a pain and the other may be much better. Holding bottom in 80ft is much easier that 130ft. So you may want to start a little shallower if currents are strong. Gamblers comment about speed is also an important one. The slow speeds work great and you may find you have a tough time going that slow depending on your setup. I needed to get a trolling plate for my motor so I could go slow enough to get them. You can get them with faster speeds but it is not ideal. When I was starting out I had to play around a lot and I did not get great explanations on how to work everything. (messages like "copper and downriggers" certainly do not explain how to do things) so if you have any questions feel free to message me.

I am going to order my new scope from bass pro shops so I would be willing to take bass pro gift cards as payment as well.

Fishaholic69 watch the launch to the left (east I believe) the concrete guards are a mess and all over the ramp. The other two are good to go. Water level was ok for my 18 ft starcraft. Brucehooked up you are being an ahole. They were both delicious.
Got to the launch at 5:30 and everything including my boat was coated in a nice thick frost. I could not remember if the docks would be in at the launch so I had my chest waders with me just in case. Good thing I did. Got the boat launched and picked up my buddy at the bridge. Had everything rigged and ready to go last night so we were fishing within minutes of being on the lake. First hit was just before shipbuilders but lost it fast. Got a double about 400 yards past that and landed the one in the picture with me in the Cabelas waders. Got two more hit and misses after that and got a nice brown right in front of Webster pier. Headed back shortly after that for Easter stuff with family.
I have an old fish tv unit that works great black and white and only used a few times and a bulk spool of 17 or 20 lb mono. Free to a good home... if you have some .22 ammo or some 4-8oz lead sinkers or an old bb gun you wanna give away I certainly wont say no but not required. Here is the catch you must pick up in the victor Farmington area.

Once again had an awesome day with Mark From Reel Crazy. This is my fifth season fishing with him and a great time as expected. Started in shallow for browns but the cottonwood and junk from the heavy rain cut that short. Not before we got a decent brown though and the tiniest baby king I think I have ever seen. Then headed out and went back and forth between 100 to 150 got 2 nice steel head and 4 lakers and lost 4 others that I couldn't id and lost one salmon on the wire dipsey with spin doctor and fly. Lost him at the net. That's the way she goes. So total of 7/12 I believe. Some huge trees floating out in the lake as well so keep your eyes peeled. Thanks again mark

No replies?? Well wind looks so so on Saturday morn so I am gonna give it a shot. I will keep all of ya posted. Does lake Ontario in the spring make anyone else feel like a kid on Christmas morning or is it just me?
I was at the launch last night and it is open enough for smaller boat. Has anyone been out yet. I am gonna shoot for this weekend if the wind cooperates.
Got a pile of stuff to get rid of assorted spoons, squids, flasher, spin doctor, lake troll, worm harnesses, to inline planer boards, two full size planer boards, older sonar unit(no transponder), releases I believe two regular and one stacker, a bunch of tackle boxes, decals to customize spoons.
I want to sell all this at once so I will not be able to split it up.
Make me an offer. Cash or trade for large sinkers 6-8 oz. pyramid or bank style or for .22 ammo (must have a copper coat not plain lead bullet.)
Buyer must pick up in Victor/ Farmington area.

I have some North American hunting club books and some fishing books. We are cleaning out our house and need to get rid of these. All the books are going to good will but I'd rather see these particular ones go to a fellow outdoorsman. Must come to pick up in the Victor Farmington area.
Finally got into some bullheads. Hit west river saturday night in Naples and got 20. Kept 6 for frying let the rest go. Anyone had any luck with the bullheads in west river or otherwise?? We are gonna try hemlock Lake next weekend.
