The new classification is what's killing me under the new determination of what a assault weapon is thru s1422-2013. It states things like a muzzle break defined as a device that stops muzzle climb. So is a kicks choke tube illeagle now. Or any semi auto shotgun with a pistol grip. Turkey hunters are using assault rifles or the fact that my savage mark 2 target gun has a threaded barrel so I can change weights and balance the gun is now illeagle. I'm curious to see how many of these new regulations will truly affect us HUNTERS.

Well I suck. Just ran kwickfish and not a strike. The wind was screwing me up today pushing me across the current into Canada. I was trying to drift towards the can in the trench I believe it's referred to. Also ran Stella and the coast guard. Lures were where they were supposed to be don't no if I was doing something wrong or just not agreat day but I took full advantage of the white winged scoters while I was down there. Any tips to make my next trip a success

Hey guys, I've called a few shops in the phone book but there closed- can someone please let me no where I can get some minnows nearby I'm launching at Lewiston Friday for some ducks and the forecast looks decent so I'm thinking of making my first attempt on the bar for lakers. Nope, having the same problem. Even when I find birds it seems like they decide to move overnight. There's quite a few mallards on the upper river. Other than that it's been a bust!

Glad to hear you's ate getting out and doing some shooting, the most important thing about duck hunting is finding the x- the exact spot the birds want to be . If you can get there and stay hidden the numbers will start adding up faster!

I think good trappers are great, removing some predators is always and it sounds like he's been trapping anyhow when the big ones were killed driving a rd instead of fields and woods would also seem to have less impact ?

And back to your post, savages are great shooters but it boils down to what you want to spend or bolt vs semi that caliber has options from single shot to AR platforms

buy a ruger 17.. bolt action. the gun is the best.. out shoots the 22 mag all day long.. shoot coyotes, bobcats,ducks anything with that gun..the gun shoots like 2550 fps.. you will love the gun[/quote

Lakes looking nice on Tuesday and I've never fished this time of the year I'm going to hunt but wanted to fish as well, thinking of dragging sticks around olcott or the bar. Do you guys have any advise or suggestions or should I approach it like spring brown fishing?

Had to share this one, absolute explosion of flavor, I used widgeon but and duck will do.

Try to keep in mind these will be bite sized when done

Cube breast 3/4" squares stick on a toothpick with a raw shrimp, slice of jalapeño "I used the ones in a jar" wrap in a half a slice thick cut bacon and let rest overnight in Italian dressing.

Grill untill bacon just crisp enough to eat and enjoy

If you go out on the lake when there is a small craft advisory in your boat and you look around a say "holy ****, I'm gonna die" then your boat would be considered a "small craft"
