  1. The lake isn't dead. Guys complain about the one weekend they fish the lake each year. The derby. The lake has had its slow years but so did its sister lakes. The derby always gets unlucky and is during the transition period of the lake. Weeks before and a week after its a light switch.

    The slams are plentiful!

nice slam there Nick! That ain't easy on the "on life support sea" [emoji38]

  2. Thats not the entire story.

I'm not sure what the situation was but I spoke with staff the guy running the weigh station and he said they were having a hard time finding any volunteers to man the weigh stations and that is why Samsen didn't have a weigh station. I noticed when I weighed my fish that there didn't seem to be any DEC   people present that used to identify the fish as well as weigh and measure them.....and that may be the source of the problem or others as well.

  3. No fee to enter the park!!!!!!

Really depends on where your fishing and how long of a drive it is for you. You’ll more than likely have to pay to enter the Sampson park if your not launching out of there. Other weigh locations is Watkins and Geneva. Both are good and have room to park. If your close to the North end you could go by boat via canal to Stivers Marine. Sometimes it’s tight in there depending how many boats are in weighing. Other times it’s empty. Plenty of options.

  4. Thanks. I don't mind sharing info at all. We are all out there to target fish and have fun. No competitive drive here on my end. Just love fishing.

One thing I forgot to mention about browns, find them and you find smallies!

Thanks for the kind words Les.

    Nick

Thanks guys I've caught a fair amount of them trolling during the day but it's always kind of a surprise. And I'm looking for a chalange or maybe a way to target them specificly. I understand the temps and also know fishing the fingers is a whole different ball game than fishing lake Ontario. Thanks Seth. I always look forward to your opinions on topics. And also thanks Nick with I respect you giving up info knowing it can effect your business publicly sharing your secrets. Tite line guys and all of the luck to you this season
