  1. The treatment was missing for 9 years!!!!

At the time, they didn't need to, then they needed to, and couldn't due to flooding, then they finally did. 9 years of successful spawning. Will treat again next spring.

I have my own opinions on these things, however I have a bigger opinion on what the state may do with the fishery. I am kinda excited.... [emoji16]

We will see what the next few years brings. June and July we had 2 or 3 eels on every fish. End of July and all of August I saw maybe 5 total.

All fish we have been catching are healthy from 2lbs to 10lbs.

    Rainbows have 90% been clean.
    Salmon as well.

Browns, well that's a discussion for another day, side not i believe we lost one of the giants the other day! [emoji2957] Right at the dang boat too!

  2. With all of the concerns here, I hope to see most of you at the next seneca lake fisheries meeting.

They are hoping to do one this fall after all the bait studies are confirmed. Seneca had its sampling done for cold and warm water this year.

There is a lot of bait. There is a lot of fish. There is a lack of browns and a lack of Atlantic's as well. However, I'm interested to see what the state will do.

  3. Welcome back! Wait till ya see the new cabins at Samsen...

Water has been screwy, but the fish are active. Temps have been 40 to 70 down. With 50-60 prime temps.

Greens and whites have been best. The flasher bite has picked up for lakers. Silvers have been slow from past years unless ya head south about 5-8 miles.

    Watch out for weeds! [emoji2961]

They really make ya work for it since week after the 4th.

  4. Saw your lund, nice boat.

Downsize that white spin dr on your rod, and shorten the lead from spinny to fly.

Try a dipsy, mag out 140 on a 2.5 setting. Fishing saturday was slower than preferred but fish were being taken still in 80 to 100 fow. Sunday, fishing was slower as well, but the weeds and fleas made it almost i think possible to keep lines clean long enough to earn a bite. We need a BIG BLOW to balance the waters back out.

Good temp is around 50 foot down.

We put in at Sampson’s mid morning and trolled for a few hours. Nothing but weeds and flea’s. Ran three Spin docks with flys, a green lake troll with peanut and a spoon up high. Screen looked decent in front of the marina but no action. Anyone do anything this morning? We will be back at it tomorrow. We are the vintage tan/brown Lund.

  5. Well,

After running 5 trips this past weekend, the fishing was spectacular!

From morning trips to the evening trips. More bites than anyone can count.

Unfortunately the eel presence is scary high, but do not worry, we let them go in more pieces than we found them in.

Fish are very active in the 80 to 100 fow range however some more are being taken out over deeper water. The bait still isn't quite breaking up yet. Just go's for miles...

Be interesting to see what happens in the upcoming year!

    Have fun and fish on!20200703_093928.jpeg20200703_204856.jpeg64694.jpeg
